THE CHURCH & MENTAL HEALTH: BUILDING RESILIENCE
DURING COVID-19 WORKSHOP, JULY 22 & 23
These times are strange. COVID-19 has disrupted nearly every facet
of our daily lives. It has threatened jobs, homes, and families in ways
that we are only beginning to comprehend. Stressors such as social
isolation, uncertainty about the future, and the threat of becoming
ill contribute to loneliness, depression, anxiety, and despair. Join us
to hear how our communities of faith are uniquely positioned to be
beacons of hope and resilience in these turbulent times.
We have an In-Person Meeting on Wednesday, July 22, hosted by
Chris Pulliam; and a Zoom Meeting Thursday, July 23, hosted by
Mike Hazeltine. Each event will be from 6:30-8pm. Please RSVP with
the church office, 903-561-8138, for the meeting of your choice.
GENERATION GREAT LUNCHEON, JULY 23
Ages 55+, join us in Disciples Hall at 11:45am. Dr. Ron Beals, an ar-
chaeologist with several Israel expeditions on his belt, will share his
experiences as we dine. Due to COVID restrictions, we are only able
to accommodate up to 60 people, so please RSVP with the church
office by July 20. Lunch will be $5. We ask that you wear a mask
and stick to "air" hugs and handshakes until restrictions are lifted.
The flowers in the Sanctuary this
week are given by Faye
Crawford, in memory of
Jim Crawford.

OPPORTUNITY TO SPREAD SOME JOY
Oak Hills Terrace is having a Postcard Party! It is a con-
test to see who can get the most mail. Our very own
Ernestine Garrett lives there and what fun she would
have receiving cards, letters, and postcards from us. If
you would like to share the fun, please send her mail
from July 15—August 1.
Send to Ernestine’s address:
Ernestine Garrett
2651 Elkton Trail
Tyler, TX 75703
There are prizes for the residents for most mail re-
ceived, mail from farthest away, and the most unique
mail! (only mail sent through the U.S. Postal Service,
please)
GLOBAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT ONLINE
Once again this year, we will host GLS; however, we
have a new format to match the times. GLS will be
available online for your viewing at home. Registration
is $89. Call Tricia Anderson for details, 903-561-8138.

as fits your group best -- and to call the church office
for space scheduling help or suggestions.

(regular room), and Seekers (in the Choir Room).
Believers class is meeting Thursdays at 6:30pm in the
Conference room.

The “Dinner Is Delivered” auction was done to
promote the sale of the FCC, DWM Cookbook,”

delicious, tried and true, recipes by FCC Cooks

on Sunday mornings after the worship services sell-
ing the cookbooks.
