University-wide Resources
Office of the Vice Chancellor for ResearchFunding Resources for FacultyThe Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research (OVCR) offers faculty a variety of resources to help identify and pursue federal and private sources of funding including:
The OVCR coordinates the internal review and selection process to identify university nominees for limited submission opportunities – cases in which funders restrict the number of applications per institution. These may be invitation‐only submissions (typically foundations, e.g. Pew, Searle, Mallinckrodt, Packard) or open calls by federal agencies. Many of these opportunities are for prestigious new investigator awards. The New Investigator Awards Committee reviews and discusses internal applications from interested faculty and selects nominees. The committee is co‐chaired by faculty from the Medical School and Arts & Sciences, and includes members from a range of departments and disciplines from the schools of A&S, Engineering, and Medicine.
Internal Selections Process: http://research.wustl.edu/PGC/InternalSelectionsVisit the Internal Selections webpage for more information about the process, including committee members (New Investigator Awards Committee and other committees).

JSEAS Discussion:Priorities & Future Programming
Looking towards the future… • Continued and expanded SEAS support • Faculty retention
– We have hired the best….• Larger collaborative efforts (Center scales)
– Lowering school level boundaries….• Cutting edge infrastructure and facilities
– How do we reach parity with (new) peer institutions quickly?
– How do we (as assistant to associate level professors) sustain such efforts/infrastructure?
