At the outset the Chairman welcomed all the members and initiated the discussion
as per agenda.
Agenda item 1: VG/ PG Academic Calendar ofF.V.Sc for the session 2018-19.
The Chairman requested Dr. Munmun Sarma, lncharge Academic Cell (UG) topresent the proposed Academic Calendar of Under graduate degree programme according toVCl MSVE, 2008 and VCI MSVE, 2016 before the B.O.S. for scrutiny. Or. Sarma read outthe proposed Academic calendars one by one. The meeting after thread .bare discussionrecommended both the UG calendars as given below.
The Chairman then, requested Dr. Jadav Sharma, Incharge Academic Cell (PG) topresent the proposed Academic calendar for academic session 20 18-19 befor~ the B.O.S. forscrutiny. After threadbare discussion, the B.O.S. recommended as under- '

Agenda item 2: Inclusion of member from collaborating/ outside institution in the Ph.DAdvisory committee. ,
Dr. R. A. Hazarika. Professor and Head, Department of Veterinary Public Health,CVSc, AAU proposed that Dr. Johanna Lindahl, Scientist, International Livestock ResearchInstitute (ILRI), Post Box 30'709, 01100 Nairobi Kenya be included as an additional memberto the Advisory committees of two Ph.D students of the department viz. Dr. ArchanaTalukdar (Regn. No. 2016- VDK-29) and Dr. Aditya Baruah (Regn. No. 2016- VDK-34). TheB.O.S. examined the biodata of Dr. J. Lindahl and observed that Dr. Lindahl may beconsidered as an additional member of the Advisory committees of the students concerned.The Pro fessor and Head, Veterinary Publ ic Health department also stated in response to theChairman's query that Dr. Lindahl is a frequent visitor to ILRI office at Guwahati andtherefore, her guidance will be available to the students without difficulty and that there willbe no problem on the part of Dr. Lindahl to attend the the meetings of Advisory committeeand exams including viva-voce etc. as and when required. Further, Dr. Hazarika stated thatDr. Lindahl will not claim TAl DA and that her expertise would be emmense help in carryingout the Ph.D projects of the students. After a threadbare discussion, the proposal to includeDr. Lindahl as an additional member of the Advisory committees of Ph.D students of Dr.Archana Talukdar and Dr. Aditya Baruah was accepted by B.O.S.
Agenda item 3 : Any other.
With permission from the chair, Dr. Muzaharullslam, Vice President, CVScSU and
Students' Representative to B.O.S. raised the issue of Compulsory Statistics course to MVSc
and Ph.D students. He stated that vide Registrar's Notification dated 20.10.16, three credit
hour course on statistics has been made a compulsory supporting course for both MVSc and
Ph.D. Dr. Islam stated that the students are of the opinion that a three credit hour course in
Ph.D. is not required if already student completed a minimum of three credit hourcoursers)
in statistics in MVSc. The BOS, however, did not find logic in discussing the matter, as the
Registrar's notification under reference is in accordance with the new revised Regulations on
Academic Matters of AAU, 20 16(Ammended) for PG Studies.
The meeting ended with vote of thanks from the chair.
