(July 9, 2015) — Andrew Joyce, Democratic candidate for Albany County Legislator in the Ninth District, has filed more than 800 petition signatures on the Democratic line with the Albany County Board of Elections – more than four times the required number to make the ballot for the Thursday, Sept. 10 primary. He also filed petitions and the acceptance for the Working Families Party line. Joyce himself collected 250 signatures. “Since I’ve announced my candidacy earlier this year, I’ve been encouraged by the number of neighbors and supporters who have believed in my candidacy and what we can do together to strengthen the Ninth Legislative District in Albany and Bethlehem. This campaign has been powered by people and I believe, through my commitment to service to my country, my state, and to my community, that I will be successful in the Democratic primary,” said Joyce. Joyce has reached out to the League of Women Voters to call for debates in the district, citing the need for a “deliberative, yet informative conversation” about how to move the County Legislature in the right direction. “It is important for the residents of the district to hear from the candidates and to listen to our respective visions for how we can make our community a better place,” Joyce continued.
