AAAS Travels • Sigma Xi Expeditions • ACS Expeditions • Planetary Society Journeys of a Lifetime! October 2015 – October 2016 Dear Travelers: This has been the most extraordinary year... with the Iceland Total Solar Eclipse trip and the Voyage in Search of Amelia Earhart —in addition to our normal repertoire of Asia trips led by Dr. Chris Carpenter, Mediterranean trips by Mark Walters, Kamchatka by Victor Kuzevanov, and many more! Thank you all for joining us! It was so good to have you with us, and we hope you will enjoy the GoPro videos, iPhone photos, and other memorabilia from your trips many times! I must say the folks who turned out for the Amelia Earhart voyage were just sensational... great researchers at Nikumaroro, hardy kayakers, able to cross the “International Date Line” on Fiji Princess in rolling seas! We were greeted by scores of dolphins as we circumnavigated Nikumaroro the first evening, really a lifetime memory! Bob Nansen tells me our passengers are always terrific like this. Enthusiastic and having the time of their lives. I was impressed. You guys are all great, and we hope you join us again next year! Look for Amelia Earhart #2 in mid-June 2017 -- it is truly a lifetime experience and you won’t want to miss it! Take a look at our Calendar and dream a bit! Then call for more info! Best wishes, Margaret, Bob & the Betchart team Discover the Delights of Yunnan including Th e Torc h F esti v al! Botanical BHUTAN May 20–June 4, 2016 Explore the Magnificence of this Himalayan Kingdom in Spring bloom! Explore Lamperi Royal Botanical Park (which has 46 species of rhododendrons!). Continue to Tashithang, Phobjikha, Trongsa, and Bumthang. Then explore Chelela Pass for alpine species and hike to “Tiger’s Nest.” An amazing adventure! $5,495 + air. July 21–August 6, 2016 In 2016, we will travel to China to see the spectacular Torch Festival and explore Yunnan Province! A traditional festival of the Yi, Naxi, and Bai peoples in southwestern China, the Torch Festival is an extravaganza of flaming torches, bonfires, parades, bull fights, singing, and dancing—all in this most scenic part of China! We will also explore cultural highlights from Dian Chi Lake, the Nationalities Museum, Stone Forest, and Chuxiong to Weishan, Dali, and Lijiang, including two World Heritage Sites! $4,595 + air.

Dear Travelers: This has been the most extraordinary year... with the IcelandTotalSolarEclipse trip and the VoyageinSearchofAmeliaEarhart—in addition to our normal repertoire of Asia trips led by Dr. Then call for more info!Best wishes,Margaret, Bob & the Betchart team
