By Kayla AcostaCheck Into Cash Center 5022 (1432 East Geneva Street)ManagerDelavan, WI—This Valentine’s Day, nobody else comes to mind besides my amaz-ing fiancé, Matthew. He’s my best friend, travel companion, and support system!

We’ve crossed oceans, road-tripped thousands of miles across the United States, and reached some of our biggest goals together! This past year, Matthew supported my Check Into Cash marketing efforts by allowing us to sponsor his race car at the Rockford Speedway. We had an amazing year!

To cap it off, we got engaged in Millennium Park in Chicago, Illinois, on Christ-mas Eve and are planning for a spring 2019 wedding.

By Taylor Matthews Check Into Cash Center 24309 (1508 South McKenzie Street)ManagerFoley, AL—This man right here I have known since we were in second grade. We’ve always been the best of friends, and we fi-nally decided to give it a go.

Here we are now, going on seven years together with three beautiful children. I am truly blessed. He is my best friend—the calm to my storm. I truly don’t know what I would do without him.

Making things better, we’re getting married on March 24, 2018. He is my forever Valentine!

By Lyndsey HawkinsBuy Here Pay Here, USA Junior Account Manager Cleveland, TN—There are no words to describe how much I love my husband and better half, Caleb Hawkins. He makes me laugh constant-ly, is my shoulder to cry on, and is my calm during the storm. We went from high school sweethearts to a very happily married couple with two children. Pictured are the two of us last year, two weeks before our eleven-year wedding anniversary. He also happens to be a Jones Companies employee, working at Loan by Phone here in Cleveland.

quickly and he’s the only person I’ve met who has kept my attention.

Our son, Sage, is the second greatest love of my life. He’ll be 6 in June and is the funniest, most charismatic, loving little boy I know, while simultaneously being a small child who has meltdowns. And while I am hardwired to like his face, he is the most attractive child I’ve ever seen.

By Brandon SuttonCheck Into Cash OnlineCustomer Service RepresentativeCleveland, TN—It was 2013 when I met the love of my life. I just didn’t know it yet.

By Lindy MaurerCheck Into Cash Center 6002 (155 Lin-coln Way West)Assistant ManagerMassillon, OH—Why do I love my special someone? I could write a book, but there isn’t enough space for all that.

I met my boyfriend, Tim, online at MeetMe.com. We texted and Snapchatted all day long for a week and then he took me out on a date. He picked me up from my work in a good-sized Dodge Ram truck. When he arrived, I watched as a short man jumped out of the door. It shocked me, because I didn’t know he was short, but I went with it anyway.

He wasn’t the usual type of guy I went for. Besides being short, he’s a country gen-tleman, and I always went for the wannabe bad boys. We went out a couple more times and just clicked so well. He made me feel comfort-able around him right away. After just six months I moved in with him. That was the best decision I have ever made!

He has two boys that mean the world to me and we adopted a kitty right away named Hope. She sleeps with us every night.

Another reason I love this man is that he is very understanding. I had trust issues from my past and it started to affect our relationship. I went to our pastor for counseling and it helped me so much. We now have no more issues or arguments. We have one-hundred-percent trust in each other and work hard every day to keep our relationship healthy and drama-free.

We’ve been together two-and-one-half years, and I’m ready to marry this man right now! We’ve both been divorced and been through stuff in our past, and I for one never thought I’d want to mar-ry again. Tim has changed my mind by just being himself. Now only if I can get him to ask me one day when he’s ready. I’ll be here waiting...

Happy Valentine’s Day, babe—a.k.a. Old Man.

By Lara WrightCheck Into CashNOIA SpecialistsCleveland, TN—This is my husband, Terence. He is strong, steady, a good father, makes me laugh, and most of all is always there when I feel overwhelmed by life. I am so glad that we finally found each other!

By David GuzmanCheck Into CashHuman Resources Processing AssociateCleveland, TN—I am pleased to say that I have found an amazing woman. Little did I know that after a tough past, I would be able to love again. Melissa and I met in October of 2016 and neither of us were interested in

dating. Little did we know that our lives would turn into what it is now. We both have gone through so much and it is just wonderful to have had so many adventures with her and her daughter, Norah.

Why do I love her? Because she made me see who I was again and not only that, she doesn’t want to change me. She loves me for me. Melissa made me believe that there are still great women out there and I found one.

God is good—so good that I decided to marry this wonderful lady. On November 2, I proposed and she said yes! I am proud to say that I am marrying my best friend and battle buddy. I wouldn’t have thought that after so much pain, I would have found the happiness I have today with her.

By Arely RiveraBuy Here Pay Here USA 21802 (2701 East Walnut Ave-nue)Salesperson Dalton, GA—I got engaged on Christmas Eve!Omar Luna and I met during March of 2014 through some mutual friends. He added me on social media, then we ex-changed numbers. We had a lot of things in common.

We seemed to hit off, and we started dating on April 10, 2014. We dated for about three and a half years. Since he is 24 years old and I am 27, I actually wasn’t expecting his pro-posal. Here’s how it happened.

On Christmas Eve we had dinner with my family then we headed off to his house for dinner with his family. My mother and sister went over to his house as well, which I thought was odd, but I really didn’t think too much about it. When we arrived all his immediate family was there and his family from Atlanta was in town to celebrate Christmas. His aunt and I had bought several presents to do a drawing for everyone to be able to win a gift.

Everyone was in the living room. I was standing in the center of the living room in order to explain how the drawing was going to be done. I noticed everyone had their cell phones out recording me and I wondered why everyone was recording.

When I was starting to explain, Omar interrupted me and said, “Hold on. I have something to say before you start.” I said, “That’s fine.” I figured he was going to add or say something in regard to the drawing, but he didn’t.

He looked at me, took my hand, and got down on one knee.“Would you like to be my wife?” he asked. I was so shocked I couldn’t speak. I just spread out my fingers so he

could put the ring on. He stood up and we hugged and I said, “Of course!” Everyone hugged us and congratulated us. It was perfect! We plan to

get married in the fall of 2018.

DALTON RINGS IN THE NEW YEAR

Tennessee. Some friends and I were being goofy and one of them pushed me in a mosh pit. I accidentally bumped heads with Tabitha. Naturally I apologized. Then we went on a couple dates a couple weeks later, got married, and have two kids now.

The point of the story is you can find love in the oddest of circumstances and places. But when you’ve got it, you’ve got it.

WELCOME TO THE NEW YEAR!

By Nate BrownfieldCheck Into CashSocial Media Specialist Cleveland, TN—This New Year’s, I released my new music video to my song “Reckless Affair.” I also played some chess that night, sat by the fire, and drank a White Rus-sian. Check the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-S19iF38xlJM

By Luci JenkinsCheck Into Cash OnlineCustomer Service Representa-tiveCleveland, TN—I was sitting with my husband in our house, taking apart a vacuum cleaner. Turns out we were watching the New York Times’ New Year ball drop and we ended up getting our New Year’s kiss in three minutes after the new year hit, because we didn’t have ca-ble so we were watching it live on the website. Oh, the joys of new marriage and getting everything settled into place! It was the fun-niest New Year ever and definitely the most memorable!

Happy three months of mar-riage to me!

By Lindsay AkinsCheck Into Cash Collections Department Cleveland, TN—I spent New Year’s Eve with some friends and my daughter, Lorelai.

Lorelai and I went home be-fore midnight, but we were still up when it hit!

By Vickie DixonCheck Into CashReconcilement SpecialistCleveland, TN—I spent New Year’s Eve with the same person I always do. Normally my husband, Zac, and I go out, but this year we opted to stay home with our son, Sage.

Zac and I faked Sage out around nine o’clock with a Netflix kids’ countdown. He’s only 5 years old, so he’s not old enough to care about New Year’s Eve.

After putting Sage to bed, Zac and I watched a movie and played video games. He was in the recliner playing the PS4 and I was on the couch playing Super Mario Odys-sey on the Nintendo Switch.

About five minutes before midnight, we were streaming Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, shared a kiss at the stroke of midnight, and went to bed not too much later than that.

Super exciting!

By Valerie VigilCheck Into Cash Center 18036 (3324 Clark Street)District 18.1 Trainer Manager Alamosa, CO—This was my first New Year’s with my new husband. We were married October 14, 2017 and by October 16, I was on the road again for Check Into Cash,

and he was on the road for CDOT (Colorado Department of Trans-portation). Our New Year was qui-et and romantic, sitting in front of a cozy fire enjoying hot chocolate.

By Minetta Flowers Check Into Cash Center 9214 (10900 Long Beach Boulevard)Customer Service Representa-tive Lynwood, CA—I didn’t do much for New Year’s. I am blessed with a man who is a Hebrew, who doesn’t celebrate many holidays as most Americans do.

So we just chilled out at home with the family, ate good food, watched movies, and enjoyed each other as a family.

By David GuzmanCheck Into CashHuman Resources Processing AssociateGatlinburg, TN—For New Year’s this year, my fiancée and I went to Gatlinburg. It was awesome!

For being a last minute thing, we were lucky to get an awesome room for cheap next to Ripley’s Aquarium and within walking distance from the ball drop. New Year’s Eve for us started at Dolly-wood enjoying snowfall and some shows, and then we got ready for the night and headed to Bubba Gumps.

There was an hour and for-ty-five-minute wait, but we de-cided to head upstairs to grab a drink at the bar to kill time and what do you know? Some chairs were open at the bar, which result-ed in no waiting. Freaking awe-some, right? It was Melissa’s first time to Bubba Gumps and my first time to Gatlinburg.

After a few drinks, an awesome dinner, and fun games played in the restaurant, we walked down-stairs to the porch and waited for the minute countdown. There were tons of people, yet we had an amaz-ing view of the event. It was spec-tacular!

That’s two years in a row Melis-sa and I get snow during our New Year’s. I think it’s a great sign of wonderful adventures to come!

ALABAMA PICKS UP ANOTHERAtlanta, GA—Because they had nothing else to do that evening, the Alabama Crimson Tide racked up another National Championship on January 9, 2017. In a game for the ages, Alabama narrowly defeated the University of Georgia, thanks to their freshman quarterback and a team of extra players who wore black-and-white stripes. But well before the kickoff, the Courier asked who you thought would pull off the victory. Were you right? Here are a few folks’ opinions on this historic game.“Roll Tide, roll—Bama for the win!”—Bobbie Andrew, Manager at Check Into Cash Center 13011 (115 Walter Payton Drive, Columbia, MS)

“I think the Alabama Crimson Tide will win tonight. Our defense is the best in the country. Here is a picture of me at Bryant-Denny Stadium celebrating my birthday back in September. My score prediction is 28–9. I do not believe Geor-gia will have an of-fensive touchdown against our power-house defense. Ev-ery time we win a national champion-ship, my family has the tradition of going to our local sports store as soon as the game is over and we receive the trophy we purchase our new national championship shirts. We plan on going tonight to buy a new one with the number 17 on it! We plan on winning our 17th for the ‘17 season!”—Alysia Ewing, Assistant Manager at Check Into Cash Center 24309 (1508 South McKenzie Street, Foley, AL)

“Here’s a picture of my dog, Daisy Mae, who came from Alabama, so I’m going with them and I will say 21-10. Let’s rock it for my Daisy Mae! Go Bama! And yes, she’s is the only reason I’m rooting for Ala-

bama.”—Cindy Breeding, Account Represen-tative with Buy Here Pay Here USA Store 3 (151 Island Drive, Dayton, TN)

“I’m not a fan of either—I’m too pretty to be a Georgia or Alabama fan. I’m an Auburn fan, but I can’t bring myself to root for Bama. Georgia: 35, Alabama: 28.”—Cassie Branum, Assistant Manager at Check Into Cash Center 24064 (631 Willow Lane, Greenville, AL)

“I’m pulling for the Dawgs. I have some friends and family who are mega-fans, and I’d like to see their team go all the way… plus, I want noth-ing to do with Alabama (sorry). I’m just hoping for a close game, so we’re entertained, probably coming down to gaining points with field goals. My prediction: GA–27, AL–26. Best of luck to both teams!”—Brad Baum, Check Into Cash Marketing Project Manager

“UGA, UGA! So the Martins are Buckeye fans, but the Rodriguezes (my side of the family) are diehard GA fans. We welcomed a new li’l fan just a few months ago. We are all crazy football fans though. Since The OH-IO didn’t make it we are all pulling for the Dawgs! There is one Ala-bama fan (Boooo!) in the midst. Can you guess which one? Ha!”—Keshia Martin, SHRM-CP, Workforce Management Liaison with Check Into Cash

“The Porters are definite Dawg fans. My son TJ even has his own bulldog. TJ even had a red, black, and white wedding and his groom’s cake was made to look like the UGA stadium.”—Kathy Porter, Check Into Cash Paralegal

“My daddy was a big Georgia fan, so they’re who I’m rooting for. I married into a Volun-teers family, so I haven’t worn a Georgia jersey in about six years, but here’s a picture from way back when. As for who will win, I’d be ex-tremely surprised if it didn’t go to Alabama. With that said, both teams are SEC and that’s the important part.”—

Vickie Dixon, Check Into Cash Reconcile-ment Specialist

“Georgia wins, 24-2 1 .” — P a t i e n c e Brown, Check Into Cash Financial An-alyst

“Georgia is gonna win this evening! They are wanting this

win more than Alabama does. So go Dawgs!”—Autumn Post, Vehicle Appraisal Specialist for Check Into Cash

“Roll Tide!”—Christina McLean, Manager at Check Into Cash Cen-ter 24011 (621 Boll Weevil Circle, Enterprise, AL)

“Georgia! 27–17.”—Bob Bartels-meyer, Manager of Check Into Cash Center 12060 (864 East Highway

60, Monett, MO)

“These are pictures from Atlanta at National Cham-pionship Game weekend.”—Jan Nunley, Loan By Phone Executive Administrative Assistant

“My heart and household yell, “Roll Tide!” I am a born and raised Georgia peach, work in Tennessee, and cheer for Alabama! Pictured are my children with three members of Bama’s Million Dollar Band; my husband, children, and me in our Bama swag from head to toe on our way to T-Town to watch a game; and our customized wreath—a surprise gift from my amazing groom.

I’ve been an Alabama fan since 1995. Why?At first, it was because my husband is a huge Bama fan, so I sup-

ported him. My husband’s sister and many cousins are alumni of Bama. Once I personally engaged myself into learning college foot-ball with a focus on Alabama’s Crimson Tide, I realized I like their

play strategies, consistency, and Coach Saban’s moti-vational and training techniques.

It’s going to be an amazing game...probably the best game of the 2017 season. I’m hoping Bama gains another championship win—number 17 in 2017. Re-gardless, I’m very impressed with Georgia’s season. To me, both teams are winners!”—Donna Peters, Loan By Phone/Check Into Cash Collections Adminis-tration Assistant

“Here’s my daughter, Sarah Moody (CIC Collections Clerical), and me before the big game. Below is a picture of Sarah after the game. I grew up in Huntsville, Alabama, which is where I started my love for the Crimson Tide. Sarah was born into it!”—Cindi Rak-estraw, Daily Accounting Supervisor for Check Into Cash

FAMILY FUN THE MARINE BAKER

Cleveland, TN—While most folks were busy celebrating the advent of 2018, Na-thaniel Hidalgo was boarding a bus to head to Parris Island, South Carolina, for basic training as a United States Marine.

Having spent the last few months making doughnuts at the Village Bake Shop, Nathaniel enlisted with the Marines, signing up to be in the infantry. Why? Be-cause he likes challenging himself to do the hardest thing.

All of us at the Jones Companies family wish him the best in his Marines ad-venture.

Before you get all worked up, this article isn’t telling you to avoid raw fruits and vegetables. Actually, eating raw fruits and vegetables is a great way to boost your health and protect almost every system and organ inside your body.

Rather, this article is to warn you against a new fad that is bound to cause some serious health problems. That fad? Raw water. It sounds bizarre, but if you think about the water you drink every day, you should know that it’s not in its rawest form. For some, the processing, fil-tering, and other steps wa-ter takes before getting to your tap means the water isn’t helpful. It’s unwanted.

For these people, nothing is better than water is its raw, original state. So they order a gallon of raw water. Currently, raw water—where it can be found—sells for nearly $40 for two gallons ($20 per gallon). And while it is excessively expensive to some, it is a worthwhile expense for others. A few others at least.

What they’re not taking into account,

however, is that raw water isn’t just raw. It has all sorts of stuff in it. Depending on the spring from which is comes, it could have any number of contaminants. From chem-icals that are naturally there and are okay to ingest to viruses, bacteria, remnants of medication that was improperly disposed,

and fecal matter, there’s no limit to the gross, un-healthy stuff that could be hiding in raw water.

So before you run out and drink what claims to be a healthier, more expensive alternative to your typical water, con-sider the health risks and

ask yourself: Am I willing to risk my good health on water that may have more bad things in it than the water that comes out of my kitchen sink?

Of course, if you agree with the raw-wa-ter fans that fluoride in your water is used for mind control, you may want to consid-er raw water, but be careful, as real diseases have been eradicated are largely due to fil-tering by your local water provider.

DirectionsPour cherry pie filling and pineapple into a baking dish. Pour the

cake mix on top, slice a stick of butter, and arrange the slices on top of the cake mix. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.

Bake the cake for 45 minutes at 350˚ F. Let cake cool before you sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve. Then...enjoy!
