Jonathan McKeown, B.A. Grad Dip. …Curriculum Vitae
PERSONAL QUALITIES: Reliable, proactive, resourceful, and communicative.
PERSONAL PROFILE: I am a highly motivated individual with 10 years’ experience in communications, copy
writing and multi-media. I am educated to a post-graduate level, obtaining a number of academic prizes while
studying, including marketing and project management.
I began my work experience in customer service roles for government agencies. I then moved into
management before setting and achieving a professional goal to work as a journalist and sports writer. I then
moved permanently into copy writing with an international agency, as their internal creative copy writer.
I have a strong work ethic, although I am generally a relaxed character that does well in most social and
professional situations. I thrive on creativity and believe my greatest talent lies in story craft.
I have worked to deadlines in high-pressure office environments and have directly followed this by working
remotely from my home office in another role. This has given me the ability to both follow direction and
provided me with sound self-management skills for an autonomous position.
TESTIMONIALS
Cassie McBlane, Content Manager – WME “Jonathan is a hardworking individual with a creative flair that is to envy. Able to write on demand and to strict
guidelines, Jonathan is well-versed in crafting compelling copy that does more than sell – weaving his way with
words through strategic content, Jon consistently envisions a story and gives it life through a powerful
narrative, no matter the topic.”
Pattrick Smellie, Director – Content Ltd
“One of Jonathan’s outstanding qualities is the speed at which he learns new systems and processes. Once
learnt, and providing there is scope to do so, Jonathan employs a strategic attitude to systematically improve
the efficiency of task processes. He has outperformed Content Ltd’s need for reliably providing a regular copy
service and has become a valued member of our editorial team.”
Andrew Board, Editor, Nelson Weekly
“[Jonathan] was used in a senior reporter [role], interviewing council staff, police, leading sporting figures and
business executives. He was also took photographs and managed layout using Adobe InDesign. I found
Jonathan to be hard working, confident, professional and willing to learn. Jonathan was respectful, willing to
ask the tough questions while keeping cool and doing his job professionally.”
