Welcome to the 18th Annual Justamere Sale of the Year. Another year has flown right by for us all. Our family is proud to be in this great business and excited for what the future holds in this great breed of Angus cattle. Our nest is a little emptier this fall as Tyra has started her studies in pre vet at University of Regina. Jonny has graduated grade 12 and is a big part of the operation here but this last month he has been on the set of a TV pilot episode in Vancouver, featuring both Black Angus and Hereford cattle. It’s an exciting time but challenging times for him, as well for all of us. We have been very blessed this year whether with an over abundance of rain and tremendous growing conditions. A bumper hay crop and harvest and we are truly thankful for this. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those of you dealing with drought along the southern part of our borders. Also the devastating fires and smoke in British Columbia, along with a prolonged drought have had their effects on the livestock industry. However, I know this to be true; cattle people, wherever they are, are the most resilient, positive, forward thinking, problem solving men and women of any industry known to man. This industry will move forward and the weather will be more agreeable. Many positive good things will come out of adversity; they always do.

The bull sale season this spring was another very good run for the Angus business. We had a very successful 22nd Annual Bull Sale and wanted to thank all of our friends and customers for being part of that great event. This year’s Sale of the Year is truly exciting for all of us at Justamere. We are constantly striving to improve our genetics, therefore helping our customers improve their programs. The four herd sire prospects are definitely exciting. The Lot 1 bull will be one to watch in the future; he offers an outcross pedigree, combined with a superb EPD profile. His sire, EXAR Stud is fast becoming a standout AI sire for calving ease, maternal and carcass data. This certainly doesn’t take away from the three other show prospect bulls sired by Justamere Mile High, 74-51 Sudden Look and my favorite Justamere Sailor Jerry. They will show very competitively and sire you the right kind for years to come. The many visitors through this summer were very impressed with our show heifer pen. We feel they are the best set we have ever offered for sale, sired by EXAR Blue Chip, Freys Opportunity, EXAR Lutton 0409 and Justamere Cash In. These females will be very competitive in the show ring but also offer the ability to turn into great production females when the show ring is done. They are worth the time to come have a look; we strive each and every year to offer the best we can from our program. This year’s bred heifer offering is as unique and promising as we have ever had for sale. The EXAR Envious Blackbird show heifer by Roundtable is truly remarkable and will be a future donor for our program. The Full Throttle bred female in Lot 22 is super exciting. There are several other exceptional heifers sired by C&C Thriller, EXAR Lutton, Justamere Washington, EXAR Reputation, Dameron First Class, C&C Mc Calla as well as Sankeys Justified, Justamere Cash In and EXAR Outcross. The real exciting part of the sale is the way these heifers are bred. Many carry service to Justamere Sudden Look 117D, the $104,000.00 Lot 1 of our 2017 Bull Sale, C&C On Cue (a full brother to 2017 Denver Senior Champion, C&C Blue Ribbon), both owned with Neilson Land & Cattle, also EXAR McKinnley and Justamere Bullseye. You won’t find these sorts of outstanding outcross genetics in volume anywhere else this fall. The cow calf section of our sale is flat out awesome; take the opportunity to help yourself to some of the females that have shaped this great program and they feature halter broke show quality heifer calves at side.

The embryos and semen offer the same high quality we hope you have come to expect from us at Justamere. Our program only works because it is working for our customers across North America and we want to thank each and every one of you for adding our genetics to your program.

Tyler Nostadt helped us with picture week preparations and also picture days one and two; also Rosemary Currie for her help with early clipping of the sale cattle. Our son Jim has dedicated his time to the baling, cutting of hay and baling straw, also hauling and stacking of the feed and we certainly appreciate his effort. Of course every operation has the driving force behind it, the one that takes care of us all. For us that is my wife Shelly, from the book work, the meals, the making sure we get to the deadlines and commitments we have made, staying home when we are all gone, showing or marketing cattle to look after every little detail. On behalf of all of us, I would like to say thank you Shelly.

Another exciting year has gone by and the SOTY sale is upon us. Our lot 1 selections in past sales have been and gone on to be significant contributors to the breed, not only in the show ring but also the commercial sector and female producing options of the future. This year’s feature is no different, sired by the $202,000.00 EXAR Stud 4658B, a young breed leader in the American Angus Association. His dam is a past donor female for Express, as well as being sired by the Carcass and Maternal cornerstone of the Express program. We love the look of this calf from any angle. Terms and Conditions

Cattle Inspections: All carry permanent identity tags, corresponding to Sale Lot numbers. All cattle shall be available for inspection prior to sale.

All Cattle Are Sold: Subject to such tests as required for export under regulations of the Health of Animals Branch, Department of Agriculture for Canada - those corresponding to Bureau of Animal Industry requirements.

Breeding Guarantee: All cattle are sound and right, and all with a responsible breeder guarantee of satisfaction. In the event of any unlikely dispute, the regular terms and conditions, standard with the Canadian Aberdeen Angus Association shall apply.

Pregnancy: Examinations shall have been conducted prior to sale on all serviced females.

Announcements: Errors discovered in the catalogue will be corrected by announcements from the auction stand at sale time and such corrections will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue.

All Persons who attend the sale do so at their own risk and the Owners, Consignors, Sale Management and Sale Staff assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for property loss or for any accidents that may occur.

Holding and Shipments: Approximately one week is required for export transfers and other documents to be processed. Export animals will be held at no charge and under excellent care. Joint export shipping arrangements to attain minimum shipping cost will gladly be made by the sale management if instructions to that effect are provided to clerk of the sale when settlement is made.

Mail Bids: May be entrusted in complete confidence to any of the Sale Staff listed or to Justamere Farms Ltd.

Insurance: Ownership risk to purchaser commences when the Auctioneer’s hammer falls. Livestock coverage will be available at the clerk’s desk from the appointed representatives on sale day, also from the sale management at any time.

Terms of Sale: Are cash or cheque at par, payable to Clerks of the sale on Sale Day. U.S. Funds will be accepted at the current rate of exchange. No release will be given until satisfactory settlement has been made. We reserve the right to withhold animals from export shipment for whom payments have not been recieved prior to departure times.

Every Animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final.
