JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA Pondicherry – 605 014 Silver Jubilee Celebration 10 th – 11 th Dec 2011 (2 nd Saturday & Sunday) Janvaa Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Alumni Association (Regd. No. 444/2004) Pondicherry – 605 014 Preamble Janvaa, JNV, Pondicherry is celebrating Silver Jubilee year of JNV, Pondicherry for its immense service to the students’ community for past 25 years especially for providing life to the talented rural based children of this region who are contributing to the social development of the nation. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Pondicherry Navodaya Vidyalaya started in 1986 at Bharathi Street, Kadirkamam, Pondicherry in a private building. The Vidyalaya, Which is fully residential and imparting good quality education at free of cost shifted to Periyakalapet in 1990 to the present campus as Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya to mark the 100 th birth centenary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehruji. It is about 13 Kms from Pondicherry town on the ECR Road between Pondicherry and Chennai. The Vidyalaya enhances academic and all round development of a child. Janvaa (Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Alumni Association), JNV, Pondicherry Janvaa is an alumni association since 2000 which is a vibrant and energetic alumni. Janvaa has been rendering a yeoman service in every facet of the Vidyalaya activities. Every Janvaa meet witnesses an impressive turnout and physical contribution every year leaves an indelible mark on the beauty of the Vidyalaya. The decoration of Rajiv Gandhi Auditorium, the Jawaharlal Nehru statue which adorns our academic block is pointers to this. They are the mute witnesses and are replete of love and encouragement. Besides, Janvaa is actively involved in career guidance; organizing competitions, memorable gifts to the school. Medals, cash awards to students on their academic, sports and co- curricular achievements every year. The Janvaa Day and Annual General Meeting is held every year on the first Sunday of December. JNVP Silver Jubilee Celebration (Dec 2010 - Dec 2011) Janvaa is celebrating Silver Jubilee Year at our school for whole year with events and mega celebration involving all the students, teachers, staff, parents, alumni members and the society at large.
