•Jet Propulsion took off with the invention of the rocket by the Chinese in the 13th Century

•Heinkel He 178 – first practical jet to fly on 27.08.1939

HOW IT WORKS•Newton’s Third Law: For every action (i.e. exhaust gases) there is an equal and opposite reaction (i.e. Thrust).1. Front Fan sucks cold air into the engine2. Secondary fan compresses the air,

increasing pressure 8x3. Liquid fuel is mixed with air and ignited.

turns the compressor and fan.5. Gases exit through exhaust nozzle. (1300
