And God had awonderful Plan.Ill take this emptiness, and Ill fill it up! 3. Out of the darkness, Im going to make light! And out of the nothing, Im going to make . . .EVERYTHING!Like a mommy bird flutters her wings overher eggs to help her babies hatch,God hovered over the deep, silent darkness. He was making life happen.God spoke. Thats all.And whatever he said, ithappened. 4. God said, Hellolight! and lightshone into thedarkness. Godcalled the light,Day and thedarkness, Night.Youre good,God said. And they were. 5. Then God said, Hello sea! Hello sky!and a great space opened up, wide anddeep and high. Youre good, Godsaid. And they were. 6. Then God said,Hello land!and there splashing upthrough theoceans camecliffs, mountains, sandy beaches.Youre good,God said. And they were. 7. Hello trees! Godsaid. Hello grassand flowers! Andeverythingeverywhere burstinto life. He madebuds bud; shootsshoot; flowersflower.Youre good,God said. And they were. 8. Hello stars! God said. Hello sun! Hellomoon! And whizzing into the darkness camefiery globes, spinning around and around whirling orange andpurple and golden planets. Youre good,God said. And they were. 9. Hello birds! God said. And with afluttering and flapping and chirping andsinging, birds filled the skies.Hello fish! God said. And with a dartingand dashing and wriggling and splashing, fish filled the seas! Youre good, Godsaid. And they were. 10. Then God said, Hello animals! Andeveryone came out to play. The earthwas filled with noisy noises growlingand gobbling and snapping and snortingand happy skerfuffling. Youre good,God said. And they were. 11. So God breathed life into Adam and Eve.When they opened their eyes, the first thingthey ever saw was Gods face. And when God saw them he was like a newdad. You look like me, he said. Youre themost beautiful thing Ive ever made!God loved them with all of his heart. Andthey were lovely because he loved them. 13. And Adam and Evejoined in the song of thestars and the streamsand the wind in thetrees, the wonderfulsong of love to the onewho made them. Theirhearts were filled withhappiness. And nothingever made them sad orlonely or sick or afraid. 14. God looked at everything he had made.Perfect! he said. And it was.But all the stars and the mountains andoceans and galaxies and everything werenothing compared to how much God lovedhis children. He would move heaven andearth to be near them. Always. Whateverhappened, whatever it cost him, he wouldalways love them. And so it was that thewonderfullove story began
