Technology Vision Statement
Our Vision
Our division will continue to improve and expand on our current use of technology:
For data collection and assessment of our instructional effectiveness
For communication within our division and with our parents and partners in the community
To improve learning outcomes for our studentsTo ensure our students have the technology
skills necessary for a bright future
The Students
Through effective implementation of technology students will:
Become savvy users of technology, preparing them for long-term career and educational goals
Be actively engaged in learning and achieving at their highest potential
Specific technology students will use include: Educational applications on both the iPod and iPad Library search interface Destiny Quest Typing software such as All The Right Type 2
The Teachers
Teachers will be charged with both teaching the use of technology and using it to teach the curriculum.
Use of technology will: Enhance student learning across content areas. Allow for ease of differentiation and provide access to the curriculum
for all students.Instructing students in the use of technology will:
Require appropriate professional development and opportunities to ensure teacher proficiency
Specific technology teachers will use include: CPS infrared student response systems SmartBoards Educational websites such as Brainpop, and Trueflix Online materials available to support our textbook series, such as

The Administration
Effective implementation of technology will make administration more efficient and allow them to better support stakeholders and the learning environment. This includes:
Automating routine administrative tasks STAR Student Information System for attendance, discipline,
and Assessing effectiveness of instruction and student
achievement Interactive Achievement; STAR Math and Reading
Communicating with staff and parents and disseminating information
E-mail; SchoolMessenger service; SurveyMonkey
The Community
The community’s involvement in our division will be increased through our implementation of technology.
The recently revamped division and individual school websites will provide information on events and news
The Parent Portal feature of STAR allows parents to access their students grades throughout the marking period
SchoolMessenger delivers critical information to parents in a timely manner

Effective implementation of technology will help all stakeholders—students, teachers, administration, and community—work together to achieve our division’s mission.
