• Smooth Jazz (Fusion) becomes popular – Kenny G.• Lots of crossover vocalists – Chaka Khan, Al Jarreau• Acid Jazz develops in U.K.• Other styles such as Jazz-Funk, Nu – Jazz, etc• Bands such as Roy Ayers, Brand New Heavies,
Incognito, Jamiroquai• Marsalis Brothers – Wynton, Branford, etc. • Loose Tubes – Collective, U.K Based• Miles Davis – releases “You’re Under Arrest”
1970’s• Jazz Rock – and the continued development of Free Jazz - Mahavishnu

continue working. • Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Keith Jarrett – come into their own as
