Cash Cage Transfer from Bravo Detachment to 266th FMSC

Cash Cage Transfer

Over the past few months we have been training 266th Finance Management Service Center (FMSC) employees to take over Bravo Detachment’s Cash Cage mission here in Ansbach, Germany. The

Detachment is passionate about taking care of their customers. To ensure there is no interruption in service when the Detachment

deactivates in the summer, the entire team has worked diligently in providing world class training to 266.

We will miss conducting cash cage operations, however we are grateful to be relieved by outstanding professionals and happy that the United

State Army Garrison Ansbach will continue to receive outstanding finance support.

“If last year’s Christmas dinner party was a success than this year’s was a super success!” This year we had the privilege to host this festivity at the Colmberg Castle located Colmberg, Germany. We were also honored to host our Battalion Commander LTC Cody L. Zilhaver and his lovely wife. We continued the Bulldog tradition by incorporating Secret Santa over the week of December 10-13th. The Secret Santa had to follow the guidelines of giving out something sweet, something funny, something red and green, and eventually to the final gift on December 13th at the Christmas party. The social gathering was incredibly awesome (especially the food), and I believe it’s because of the fact that we were there together, having fun together, laughing together, giving out presents to each other, and enjoying our ‘party’ together. The Bulldog Team was more than just a detachment throughout the year, but more like a family. I also believe that is why we had such a successful Christmas Party this year. All Bulldogs’ and family members’ unfailing dedications to the Bravo Detachment ensured our success during the past year and I personally would like to express my sincere gratitude to you all. Thank you. SPC Humphreys

London New Years – BOSS TRIP

Like a B.O.S.S The Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) allows single Soldiers and geographical bachelors the chance to get out of the barracks and explore Germany and other parts of Europe. Three members of the Bulldog team attended a trip to London with the BOSS program. Participants left the evening of 28th December 2012 and met up with individuals from Bamberg and Schweinfurt. After a long journey, that included a ferry ride, the participants arrived in London around 1000 on 29 Dec. After arriving, one was able to explore on his or her own or take part in organized trips such as a visit to Stonehenge or Windsor Castle. Although the hotel was not located in the center of London, public transportation was easy to navigate and readily accessible. With many historic and modern sites to explore, London is an exciting place that everyone should try to visit.

On 18 December 2012 we were getting ready for lunch when we were told nobody was allowed to go to lunch! We all thought we were in trouble. So we met in the conference room confused as to why we were not allowed to eat. After a few minutes of trying to guess why we were in there, the Ansbach Elementary School counselor and school nurse came in with our lunch. They decorated our table with chocolates and decorations. They surprised our detachment by setting up a Christmas lunch to show their appreciation for us volunteering at their school. In 2012, the Bulldogs have volunteered in the Ansbach community 1,226 combined hours. This includes volunteering at several of the schools events. The children from the school also made us Christmas cards thanking us for helping them with their school work. I personally, thought this was very nice of them to do for us. It made everyone in the detachment feel appreciated for the selfless service that we provided for the kids and their school. PFC Robotham
