Coroner: Autopsy showed Jackson death a homicide By ANTHONY McCARTNEY,AP Entertainment WriterAssociated Press

This article that I read is a very intresting one. This is talking about Micheal Jackson's death and what his doctor Murray had to do with it. Attorney J. Michael Flanagan suggested Jackson could have swallowed the drug which is meant to be administered intravenous thats what he thinks Jackson did but he wasn't sure at that point he was not correct, because the facts of the autopsy that Micheal Jackson did not swallow the pill. Although if they didn't find this about Jackson, either way Murray would still be held accountable for not watching over Micheal Jackson. Although he is dead this case is still being looked over and this is what happened so far.

please record your group’s thoughts and report it to the class.

Grade: C

Gives basic details Michael Jackson’s death is still being

investigated His doctor is being held responsible for

not keeping a close enough watch on Jackson’s medication

Army wants helicopter training the Big IslandBy Associated PressAssociated Press

This article is about an army that wants to train soldiers and helicopter training on the Big Island for an Afghanistan deployment. The Schofield Barracks would run training exercises at Pohakuloa Training Area landing places on Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. But the Board refused the proposal because of the drills would expand the Training areas. The Hawaii Volcanoes International park is scared that the helicopters would hit the endangered birds.

My opinion on this article is that it would be good if they don’t disturb the endangered animals and birds. They can practice somewhere else but not in the Hawaiian Islands.

please record your group’s thoughts and report it to the class.

Grade: B

Includes opinion, however, it seems incomplete.

If training shouldn’t be done on the islands, then where should the army train its soldiers?

Why would another location be better?

Round 3Using the Article Summary rubric, grade the following:

Medical Waste spreads down Leeward CoastBy B.J. Reyes

This article is about medical waste and other trash on the beaches and how they deal with it. If you find any medical waste on the beach you are urged to call 668-2985. I think this is nasty because not only is there dirty water, but now there is medical waste that, who knows, could give you a third arm or something.

please record your group’s thoughts and report it to the class.

Grade: D

Lacks details Where did the medical waste come from? Who is responsible for fixing the problem? How is it being fixed? When did this happen? Why did this happen?

Three boys arrested for allegedly setting fire to a shopping cart in MililaniBy Star-Advertiser staff

This article is about one 16-year-old and two 14-year-old set some trash cans and a Times Super Market cart on fire. All 3 of them got arrested the older one on Thursday and the young ones on Wednesday. The trash cans that got burned at Mililani High School at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11,2010 and the times cart 8:20 p.m. same night. It took place in Mililani High School and Times Super Market. They didn’t say where it was. In my opinion that was stupid because I think it was for no reason at all so that is just stupid to me.

please record your group’s thoughts and report it to the class.

DNA test frees rape suspect: A Maui man is released after 20 years in jail as fresh evidence prompts an order for a new trial

By Michael Tsai Associated Press

This article is about a 41-year-old Maui man that was convicted for allegedly raping girls in the year of 1992. 22 years later he was let out. It turns out that it wasn't him, that raped the girls. Either the lady who identified him as the raper was mistaken or she just wanted him in jail, I really don't know. I just feel bad for the guy. Just because a lady thought it was him he had to spend 22 years in jail for a crime he never committed. He even missed his own daughters birth. At his trial he finally met his daughter, she was already a grown lady. Sucks to be him.

please record your group’s thoughts and report it to the class.

This lady had warmed it up then when she opened it up she noticed that there was something moving and that’s when she found that there was a gecko in her food bag. Waves ahoyBy Rosemarie Bernardo

This article is about a the “Eddie” which is a surf contest that is held each year for Eddie Aikau who was a great surfer. This article was basically talking about how they were going to have the Eddie Competition at 8pm to 4 pm. Many shops were preparing for this competition, hoping to get business going. My opinion of this event was, I think that they should have this competition because it keeps the memory of Eddie Aikau and keeps us remembering what good he has done.
