The Ten Commandments Exodus 20:1-17

And God spoke all these words, saying, I am the LORD your God, which has brought you out of

the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You will have no other gods before me.

You will not make yourself any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the

earth: You will not bow down yourself to them, or serve them:

for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third

and fourth generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy to thousands of them that love

me, and keep my commandments. You will not take the name of the LORD your God in

vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that takes his name in vain.

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you will labor, and do all your work:

But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD your God: in it you will not do any work, you, or thy son, or

your daughter, your manservant, or your maidservant, or your cattle, or your stranger that is within your

PRAISES TO GOD

Bert Devin: He was struggling with an erratic heart beat, causing him great weakness. Update: He had an electro-cardioversion done on Jan 8th which put his heart back in rhythm. Note from Bert: Thank you all who prayed for my heart condition and recent procedure. The results were better than the doctors predicted and I expected. Praise our Father for His love and protection, for all His children, and myself. Geneva Smith: She had a UTI and it was causing deliri-um. Update: She is home now and doing well.

Suzanne Nelson: She had a sinus infection. Update: She is doing well now.

Keyla Scrogham: She had completed six rounds of chemo, but it didn’t destroy the cancer. UPDATE: God has completely healed her of all cancer, much to the doctor’s surprise.

Chuck & Jo Bush: Fighting many health problems. Up-date: Jo is home now and Chuck say they are both doing well.

Donna Mathes: She had been falling a lot. She had fall-en and impaled herself on a ship mast of a door stop. Her husband Mel needed prayers because of poor health. Update: They are both doing well now.

Casey: She had twins. The babies were taken by C-section and had trouble breathing so they were put on oxygen. Update: They are home now and doing well. The doctors will do a heart echo on Wayland, one of the twins, to make sure nothing has gotten worse.

PRAYERS AND UPDATES

Leanne Hertzler: health problems. Deborah Morton: health problems. Dee Sievers: has cancer. Eva Brown: She is developing Alzheimer’s and other health issues. Stella Hicks: She is fighting several health issues and has no insurance. She is now living in a small camp trailer. Fannie Smith: suffered a stroke and is in the hospital.

Verna Walker: She has been very ill and her B.P. is very low. Beverly Miller: She has been suffering from excruciating pain in her left leg. She is requesting prayers for wisdom and healing. Rex Jamerson: He can’t sleep and is trying to get off some strong pain meds. He also had a cancer on his left ear re-moved, along with two lymph nodes on his neck. He is re-covering at home. He also has nerve damage to his lower lip due to the surgery. He has reconstructive surgery sched-uled for January 14. Bill Ferrel: He had a stroke possibly due to blocked arteries. Duane?: He has stage for pancreatic cancer. Ron Cooper: He has cancer. Gary Curran: He had gallbladder surgery and is recovering. David Curran: He is recovering from gall bladder and hernia surgery. Update: He is still struggling with the effects of the surgery. Rodney Curran: He is recovering after surgery on October 4th. Cosden Foland: He said that his right eye is doing very well after laser surgery. But, his left eye’s vision has really de-graded and needs cornea surgery. He is waiting for it to be scheduled. Please pray for healing so he won’t need the surgery. Lelan Forester: He is still doing rehab for the paralysis in his lower back and legs. He recently had a blood clot in his leg which caused a lot of swelling. They treated the clot, but he still has some swelling. Update: He has developed a bed sore. Caitlin Forester: She needs strength and good health as she is taking care of Lelan and their daughter. Update: She is fighting a sore throat. Kate Forester: She fell and broke her leg in October. Up-date: She is suffering some pain in her ankle and feet. Fannie Smith: suffered a stroke and is in the hospital. Nicole Yeary: She is fighting MS.

YESTERDAY, TODAY, AND FOREVER! By Herbert Devin

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forev-er!” Hebrews 13:8 Let us begin today in Isaiah 46:10. In order to un-derstand verse 10, we must first read verse 9: “Remember the former things of old: for I am God and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying My council shall stand, and I will do my pleas-ure.” (note: CSB: “My plan will take place, I will do all my will.”) Can God really tell us the end, in the beginning? Did He? • God replaced Adam’s bloodless covering of fig leaves, with a covering taken from a required blood

sacrifice. Someone had to die, to cover his sin. Fig leaf aprons were WORKS of man. (Note that the Lord God did the Work, not Adam. Gen 3:21.) • Eve gave birth to Cain and said, I have gotten a man, The Lord. (Because of her Messianic expectations) • Abel’s blood sacrifice lead to jealousy from Cain and Cain’s murder of Abel.

THE CALL OF ABRAHAM UNTIL THE CALL OF ABRAHAM, THE BIBLE TELLS THE STORY OF THE WORLD WITHOUT HOPE. • The world had gone the way of Cain. • The Flood came. • God started over, with one man, Noah, and his fami-ly. • AS IN THE BEGINNING, GOD STARTED WITH A HOUSE, A MAN AND HIS WIFE. With Abraham, God’s Plan of Salvation, the Redemption of the World, began. Genesis 12:2: Have you ever read this verse, AS IF GOD WAS SPEAKING TO YOU? 1 Go out from your land, your relatives, and your fa-ther’s house to the land that I will show you. 2 I will make you into a great nation, I will bless you, I will make your name great, and you will be a bless-ing. If you are a spiritual child of Abraham, verse 2 and 3 applies to you, also, as it did to the father of the faithful. You were also called to be a blessing to the world!! In Genesis 12:3, All the peoples of the earth (Hebrew= Adama, dirt, dust, Adam created from.) will be blessed THROUGH YOU. Yes, of course, it is referring to the Messiah. But it is also talking to the spiritual children of Abraham, that will be kings and priests ruling with The King of Kings. Some over 10 cities, some 5 cities, and so on. Why was Abram sent into the land of Canaan? In Genesis 9, Noah cursed Canaan. The descendants of Canaan lived a degenerate and cursed lifestyle. They, and the land needed REDEMPTION. In the Last days, all the earth will need REDEMP-TION from the sins of degenerate and cursed man-kind. Just as Abraham, and his children would be strangers, living in a strange way, wherever they would dwell. Not mattering where God would scatter them, whether Egypt, America, Kenya, or your own house today. Genesis 15: 7. I am the Lord your God who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldees, (And He is the Lord God that brought Abraham’s spiritual children out of the Catholic, the Baptist, any other religious organization or no organization at all.) Genesis 16. Abraham attempted to help God fulfill prophecy, via Hagar and Ishmael. (How did that turn out?) Genesis 17. God changes Abram’s name, and es-tablishes a covenant with him. As with any cove-nant, a marriage covenant involves more than just 1 man, and 1 woman. It also involves their children, and generations of their children.

Thank you for your creative teachings. You really help us to grow spiritually and we love and pray for all of you in Jesus name Amen. Please continue to pray for us for we hope if we have money we should start the roofing work this January for rains and heat of the sun disturb us a lot. Thank you for your love and plan to sent teaching and funds for our roofing. We pray that God should bless you all. Here is a new picture of our new added church, and there you can see Pastor Edidiong Nse Abasi. (See photo on Last Page.) Last sabbath they fellowshipped with us and there was a great joy in our service and many accept baptism in which I will do it soon. Please pray for us for we are doing so.

In his letter dated, December 12th, Pastor Nestor wrote: “Praise the Lord! Love and greetings from all of us her in

the Philippines in the name of Jesus, the Christ. We have just arrived from our trip in Cebu City and it was very suc-

cessful and so blessed. The churches in Cebu are so active and strong and inspired so much. When we leave Cebu last

Monday we prayed with so much joy and when we said goodbye, tears fell from our eyes. Hallelujah!! To God Be The

Glory. The Bible School is doing fine and the students are so attentive during our bible classes and the graduating class

are so excited for their graduation on April 2019, together with the church anniversary in Cebu City Church of God

Ministries. The students stay active and faithful. The next convention and youth camp will be held in Hilltop Carmen

next year. The Lord has blessed the works here with more souls and He is opening doors for the gospel. We give all of

the glory to the Lord. Amen.”

In his letter dated, January 6th, Pastor Nestor wrote: “Our beloved in Christ there in the U.S.A., time is fast

approaching to the glorious coming of our Lord Jesus, the Christ. Prophecy is being fulfilled all over the

world. Let us press on steadfastly in our heavenly calling, counting the things of heaven more real and pre-

cious than the things on earth. Our country suffered a tragedy caused by a tropical depression that sent tor-

rential rains and caused many lives to be lost. Many are still missing and billions of property damage done.

But, we are thankful to God our Heavenly Father that keeps us from all harm. Our churches in Visayos and

Mindanao continue growing. We continue to pray for the needs of a gospel car in Cebu. The bible says to

pray without ceasing. Amen.” (Below are photos from the Church Convention and Youth Camp held in No-

The needs in Kenya continue to grow as the government increases taxes on just about everything, includ-

ing the food. The owners of the buildings that we help support the rent on have been kind and have not

raised the monthly rent price. We are very thankful for this because food has more than doubled in price, so

it is costing more to keep the orphans fed each month. Please pray that God will provide all that is needed

to cover the costs in Kenya and in the other countries we support.

Pastor Martin and the other ministers there continue to work hard to supply the physical and spiritual

needs of the people. (Below you will see pictures of the Migori church.) Next month we will share some pic-

tures of Pastor Martin and others of the Church of God preaching in the streets to the people gathered there

to listen. Many people have given their lives to the Lord because of the work that is being done there.

Pastor Martin and the brethren in Kenya give their love and greetings to all of the brethren here in the

U.S. Churches and they thank everyone for your support and your prayers. Pastor Martin spends a lot of his

time visiting the churches, counselling and sharing the word of God with those that come to visit him. Be-

cause of his welcoming attitude and love for all people, another church group located in Magina, Kenya have

asked to join with the church and

learn the ways of the Lord. We

here in the U.S.A. welcome

them.

WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED, SO FAR? IN THE BEGINNING, God began His house with one man and one woman, and their children. God is NOT a “just me and You,” type of God. God is not selfish. OUR CALLING is not selfish. God called us to bless the land. Do the Philippine Islands need to be blessed? What about Kenya? What about any land where God’s people exist? What about where you live? All the world needs the Blessing God has called us to. Matthew 5:13: “You ARE the salt of the earth.” (ARE, not only will become) Verse 14: “You are the light of the world.” What does God see when He looks at the dark Earth? Does He see points of light sprinkled like salt, all over the Earth? • God called Abram. • God called you. 1. Go forth, leave all behind. Luke 14:33 “So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.” 2. You shall be a blessing. 3. In you also, all the families of the earth will be blessed. Genesis 12:3 In the Movie, The Ten Commandments, the Phar-aoh said “Let it be written. Let it be done.” What God has written in the beginning, is for us, to-day. Like our father Abraham, we too, shall be a blessing. God had it written. It shall be done. And then, in the end, we shall get to the “FOREVER” part. END
