The Insider
We have many people who have been membersof Greenspace since our inception and know ofall the partnerships we have developed in ourcommunity, within our county, and fostered onthe state, national and international level. Forthose new members wewould like to familiarize youwith these partnerships andremind our charter membershow these partnershipshave developed into soundconservation work on theCentral Coast.
When listing all ourpartners over the past fifteenyears, the array of conser-vation and environmental issues thatGreenspace has successfully been in-volved with was stunning. We have de-veloped partnerships with over 60 local,state, national and internationalorganizations and agencies.
These organizations and agen-cies have ranged fromnonprofits and private founda-tions to local and federal gov-ernments agencies. The com-mon ground we share isas diverse as it is special-ized. The most importantaspect of these partner-ships is that the commongoals relate to the com-munity well-being and tothe environmental integ-rity of our life support sys-tem that includes animals,water, air, and soil.
As a result of these partnershipsGreenspace has been involved with over$20 million in land conservation deals onthe North Coast of San Luis ObispoCounty. From a state perspective, with our involve-ment as a board member of the Planning and Conser-vation League, we have helped contribute over $2 bil-
lion for park and water related issues through the pas-
