    FEMA Mitigation community education and outreach advisors are visiting local home improvement stores to provide usefuinformation and publications about low-cost ways to rebuild that can reduce the risk from future storms, flood events and other

    potential hazards.

    SBA disaster loans to homeowners, renters and businesses of all sizes are the principal source of money for rebuilding after adisaster. Businesses of any size in the declared disaster area can apply for a long-term, low-interest loan to repair or replacedamaged property. Some businesses and non-profit organizations can apply for a working capital loan from the SBA torelieve the economic injury caused by the disaster even if there was no property damage.

    For assistance, contact the SBA Customer Service Center by calling 800-659-2955 or TTY 800-877-8339 Monday throughFriday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or by sending an email to

    Applicants are not required to visit a Disaster Recovery Center, but a visit to a Disaster Recovery Center provides anopportunity for disaster survivors to meet one-on-one with representatives from state and federal agencies and find answers toquestions they may have about the recovery process. The Disaster Recovery Center is staffed by NCEM, FEMA, SBA andother federal and nonprofit agencies.
