The Leaders of the English Colonies inAmerica, who agreed upon the Declaration ofIndependence and later the Constitution, were keen students of the Book of Faithprofessed by themselves and the majority oftheir countrymen at that time-the HolyBible. In Colonial times, Ministers preached from

their pulpits that the Bible was written forpresidents and advisors, for legislators andmagistrates, for mayors and ambassadorsand that it was the source from which camethe establishment of "righteousgovernment.' ,

Colonial preaching made the Bible not onlythe Book for the individual and the family butTHE BOOK that guided the United States ofAmerica on her way to destiny.

The author of the tract that you are aboutto read writes with the same understanding. Iurgently recommend that any person, especially persons in government, invest afew minutes to read this article.

You will be blessed by this treatise on"God's Way" of solving problems in thenation. You will find the Bible way veryintelligent, very reasonable, and often muchsimpler and more effective than man's.Please read on.

My people are destroyed for lack ofknowledge: because thou hast rejectedknowledge, I will also reject thee, Seeingthou hast forgotten the law of thy God, Iwill also forget thy children. Hosea 4:6

Inasmuch as God is the SupremeAuthority in ALL things, let us thenconsider national affairs, which are ofsuch vital concern to each of us, in thelight of God's word, for only then will weview these things in their proper settingand with understanding. This study maybring about some reorientation in ourthinking, for many labor under thedelusion that the Bible teaches onlyreligion and proper conduct on theindividual level. Actually only two-sevenths of the text of the Bible dealswith religion, per se. In the otherfive-sevenths we find history, prophecy, and NATIONAL INSTRUCTIONS.

As we look into the Divine instructions, let us keep in mind that the truth of astatement depends on its own nature, butits authority depends on its orig in.

A rational approach to the study ofDivine law, and its application to ourpresent society, can be made only afterthe dissolution of the error of the teachingthat Jesus Christ fulfilled and abolishedall the law of God. This error has warpedour understanding and has robbed us ofthe fullness of God's blessing on ourcountry.

While admitting that the instructionsand laws given in the Old Testament

1

Page 4: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

originated with God, the "religionists"have taught that they were only atemporary arrangement and that the ad-vent of Jesus Christ made them null andvoid. These "traditions of men" stemfrom a misunderstanding of God's plan ofthe ages and of the basis, purposes, anddivisions of the Divine law as well as fromthe misuse of the word" law" in the KingJames translation of the New Testament.

The doctrine that Jesus fulfilled andthereby abolished all the law is the causeof our national problems today-economic, political, military, financial, and social. A strong statement? Yes, buttrue, for this no longer is merely asectarian dogma but is now a question ofnational survival.

The law of God, as given to Israelthough Moses, is the revelation of God'swill for the conduct of men and nations. When obeyed, it is the fulfillment of theprayer, Thy will be done on earth as it isin heaven. Mat. 6:10

It is a full body of national law, consisting of the Commandments, Sta-tutes, Judgments, and Ordinances. Thelatter were the sacrificial and ceremoniallaws of worship referred to by the ApostlePaul as the law for righteousness (Rom.10:4). Paul also refer3 to this section ofthe law in Col. 2:14, Blotting out thehandwriting of ORDINANCES that wasagainst us, which was contrary to us, andtook it out of the way, nailing it to Hiscross.

The laws of God have been in effectsince the creation and were observed bythe patriarchs and were codified andspecifically given to Israel at Mt. Sinai;but the rituals, beginning 430 years after

2

Page 5: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

(Abraham) could not cancel a Settlementpreviously established by God, so as toabolish the promise (Gal. 3:17, FentonTrans.). The rituals were added at thetime the law was given to Israel (becauseof transgressions) and consisted of typeslooking forward to Christ's sacrifice.

RITUALS

In most instances the translators of theKing James, or Authorized, Versiontranslated the Greek or Hebrew word thatreferred to any or several portions of thelaw or rituals as "law." That we mayunderstand that the writers of the NewTestament recognized the divisions of thelaw, let us compare some verses from theKing James translation with the sameverses from a later, more accu ratetranslation, the Ferrar Fenton.

Galatians 4:21

K.J. Tell me, ye that desire to be underthe. law, do you not hear the law?

F.F. Tell me, you who wish to be under aritual, do you not hear the law?

Galatians 5:2-4

K.J. For I testify again to every man thatis circumcised that he is a debtor to do thewhole law. Christ is become of no effectunto you, whosoever of you are justifiedby the law, ye are fallen from grace.

F.F. And I assert again, to everycircumcised man, that he is bound topractice the whole ritual. Whoever of youare made righteous by a ritual, you aredetached from Christ, you are fallen fromthe gift.

Page 6: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

Galatians 5:18

K.J. But if you are led of the Spirit, youare not under the law.

F.F. But if you are led by the Spirit, youare not under a ritual.

Romans 3:20-22

K.J. Therefore, by the deeds of the lawthere shall no flesh be justified in Hissight: for by the law is the knowledge ofsin. But now the righteousness of Godwithout the law is manifested, beingwitnessed by the law and the prophets.

F.F. Therefore by the practice of a ritual, none can be made righteous; yet, however, a recognition of sin comes bymeans of law. But now, without a ritual, aDivine righteousness is exhibited, attested by the law and the prophets.

Romans 23:27-28, 31

K.J. Where is boasting then? It isexcluded. By what law? of works? Nay:but by the law of faith. Therefore weconclude that a man is justified by faithwithout the deeds of the law ... Do we thenmake void the law through faith? Godforbid: yea, we establish the law.

FF. Where then is our pride? It isbanished. By what law? by the rituals? No! but by a law of faith. Therefore wehave argued that a man may be righteousby a faith distinct from a law ofrituals ... Then, you will say, we destroythe law for the sake of the faith? Never! On the contrary we corroborate the law.

Page 7: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

it were by the works of the law.F. F. But Israel, pursuing a ritual forrighteousness, has not entered into arighteous law. For what reason? Becausethey sought it not as from faith, but as iffrom rituals.

These verses are a small sampling butare sufficient to demonstrate that "law"as used in the King James NewTestament is a word too all-inclusive forclarity. It should be evident from theforegoing examples that "rituals" is abetter translation in many cases.

An analytical study of the Scriptureswill prove conclusively to the honest mindthat, under the Old Covenant, justifica-tion (forgiveness of past sins) wasobtained by the ritual of the sacrifice(works of the law in K.J.), which was atype of the future sacrifice of Jesus Christbut which required positive physicalaction (works of the ritual) on the part ofthe individual. But now that theanti-type, Jesus Christ, has fulfilled theritual of the sacrifice, justification comesby faith in Him, not in the works of theritual, which He abolished by fulfillment.

All Christians agree that the ritual hasbeen fulfilled and abolished by JesusChrist; but not all have understood thatmany of Paul's references to the "law",in the King James translation, werereferring ONLY TO THE RITUALS,which were added because of transgres-sions of the LAW, and that those rituals, while temporarily typifying the work ofChrist, could not annul the promise of thecoming of Christ and the redeeming ofIsrael. Neither could the taking away ofthe rituals alter the law, which was fromthe creation.

Page 8: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

The foregoing quotations, and manymore in the New Testament, also flatlyand definitely teach that the "law," i.e.,the Commandments, Statutes, and Judg-ments, remain firmly established. Theselaws not only give us a definition of sinbut are the Divinely provided guidelinesfor a God-pleasing, Christian life and fora righteous and prosperous nation. Let uslook to the Master Himself for confirma-tion.

00 not imagine I have come to abolishthe law and the prophets; I have not cometo abolish, but to complete them. For Itell you indeed, that until the heavensand the earth pass away, a single dot orhairstroke shall not disappear from thelaw, until all has been completed. Iftherefore, anyone shall make light of oneof the least of its commands, and shallteach men so, he shall be declared to bethe least in the Kingdom of Heaven; butwhoever teaches them and acts up tothem, he shall be great in the Kingdom ofHeaven. Matt. 5:17-19.

Consider also I John 3:4, For sin is thetransgression of the law, and Romans3:31, Do we then make void the lawthrough faith? God forbid: yea, weestablish the law.

But the churchmen who hate GOg'S lawargue, "We are not under law but undergrace; we need only love God and oneanother." But even love needs directionand guidance lest it become inordinate, debased, and misdirected, finding ex-pression in sexual promiscuity, fornica-tion (interracial sex), prostitution-the"new morality" practices these under theguise of love-and tolerance of crime and

Page 9: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

violence.Jesus said, If you love Me keep my

commandments, but the religioniststeach that if we keep His command-ments we will lose our salvation. It wouldbe interesting to hear them try to explainI John 5:2-3, which says, By this we knowthat we love God, AND KEEP HISCOMMANDMENTS. FOR THIS IS THELOVE OF GOO, THA T WE KEEP HISCOMMANDMENTS.

By what means, other than keeping Hiscommandments (law), does one demon-strate his love toward God?

The Ten Commandments are the basisand summation of the Divine law. Jesussummed them up with these words, Thoushalt love the Lord thy God with all thyheart, and with all thy soul, and with allthy mind, and, Thou shalt love thyneighbor as th yself. On these twocommandments hang all the law and theprophets. Matt. 22:37-40.

We would do well, then, to investigatejust what hangs on the Commandments.A study of the Statutes and Judgmentsreveals that they are the explanation and

,the practical applications of the TenCommandments. They are the plan andformula for the government of the nationand the conduct of the citizens. Furtherdiscussion here of the laws for individualcond uct is not needed, for thoseChristians wishing to please God by theirlives will search out His will in His word. The balance of this study is devoted tonational problems, their causes andremedies, as given us by the God of Israeland confirmed by Jesus Christ and theApostles.

Page 10: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

The keeping of the Divine law is areasonable exercise in human conduct, for there is an easily understood reasonbehind each precept. The cumulativeresult of obeying the Commandments,Statutes, and JUdgments is boundlessblessing on the nation-the end ofpoverty in the midst of plenty; justice forall men; unprecedented prosperity; nomilitary defeats nor stalemates; respectof all the world; beautiful cities; almostnon-existent crime; peace, safety, andhappiness for the people; and, above all,a glorification of Jehovah and His SonJesus Christ. Eye hath not seen, nor earheard, neither have entered into the heartof man, the things which God hasprepared for them that love Him. I Cor.2:9.

While God's law was given specificallyto Israel, because it is the nation Godchose to glorify His Name in the world, any nation that will obey His law shallreap the same benefits, and thosedisobeying shall suffer the same penal-ties. The law of God is universal andimmutable, for it is based on the naturallaws, which are also Divine laws. It alloperates on the pri nciple of cause andeffect. The effect will always follow thecause, whether for good or for evil, just assurely as water quenches fire. Thepromised results of obedience, or dis-obedience, will follow as certainly as dayfollows night; and that without any director immediate Divine action. The result is"built in."

Since the law, as given to Israel, isbased on natural law, the "putting away"

8

Page 11: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

of that law, as taught by most churches, would have required the annulling of thenatural laws. This would have resulted inabsolute chaos; the earth would haveagain become void and without form(Gen. 1:2).

When David became king of Israel, that nation was at its lowest ebb since itsentry into the land. Within forty yearslittle Israel was stronger than any of herneighbors because David enforced thelaws of God. Solomon, for the most part, also enforced the Statutes and J udg-ments; and before another forty yearshad passed, Israel was also a fabulouslyrich nation.

Our own United States of Americabegan as a small nation, significantly 13colonies who joined in the task offurthering the Kingdom of God infreedom and liberty.

After the War of Independence, tradewas at a standstill in the 13 war-ravagedcolonies. Their money was almostworthless and anarchy and rebellion werebecoming evident. Under these chaoticconditions the Founding Fathers met inPhiladelphia and produced the greatestconstitution ever devised by the mind ofman. It was second only to the Divineplan delivered to Israel at Mt. Sinai.

Five years after the ratification of theU.S. Constitution, order had come out ofchaos, confidence had returned, the newnation had credit around the world, andgrowth was assured. The Constitution, byits similarity to the God-ordained nationalsystem, had brought about a condition soattractive that people of all nationslonged to settle in America.

Page 12: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

We must understand that basicallythere are three types of governments-autocracy, democracy, and repu bl ic.Each has variations. There are also threebasic economic systems-socialism, capi-talism, and free enterprise. The Divinelyordained system given to ancient Israel isoften referred to as a Theocracy, yet itwas a republic becausethe people electedrepresentatives to administer the law. Italso had the free-enterprise economicsystem.

Those who read and understand knowof the economic slavery, harassment, fear, torture, and death meted out bytyrannical despots. They also know of theintolerance, irresponsibility, disorder, and destruction of life and property thatis part and parcel of anarchy. Anarchy is,of course, democracy carried to theultimate. Only the middle course, asfollowed by a republic, be it democraticrepublic, monarchial republic, or Theo-cratic republic, is conducive to freedomand prosperity. Of these, only a Theo-cratic republic can avoid destruction bypaternalism and race mixing.

A Theocratic republic recognizes Godas the Supreme Ruler and Lawgiver. Thevisible chief executive, be he president orking, realizes he is God's minister andthat he is responsible to God for all hisacts. The congress and the courtsadminister the law but never make thelaw. They determine the application ofthe law to changing times and conditions.God has never given man the authority tomake law, only the authority to adminis-ter His law.

Page 13: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

Our form of government, a democraticrepublic, is based on the premise that allpower rests in the people, but the Bibletells us, There is no power but of God forthe LORD is our Judge, the LORD is ourLA WGIVER, the LORD is our King; Hewill save us. However, God's lawcarefully protects the rights of theindividual, the sanctity of the home andfamily, and the freedom of the people.God is far more considerate of us than weare of ourselves.

While the United States acknowledgesGod's Supremacy, by lip service, we domake our own laws; therefore, ours is ademocratic republic. We started well, oursystem falling only a little short of the lawand system that would merit God's fullblessing. On this basis, and the fact ofGod's promises to the patriarchs, theUnited States of America has grown andprospered as no other nation ever has.

To understand thoroughly the develop-ment of our nation, we should considerthe prom ises God made to Abraham,Isaac, Jacob, and the nation of Israel.God prom ised Abraham that his descen-dants, through Isaac, shOUld becomemany nations who would be a blessing toall the world. Jacob, whose name waschanged to Israel, inherited those prom-ises and passed them on to his twelvesons and Joseph's two sons, Ephraim andManasseh. The addition of Joseph's sonsresulted in 13 states.

Jehovah's promises for the latter days, that is, the period of time between thefirst and second comings of Christ, is of

11

Page 14: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

great importance. According to thesepromises the states of Israel were tobecome nations in the world, finallybringing forth, in the new land promisedto David (II Sam. 7:10), the joining of thesticks of Israel and Judah (Ezek.37:16-22) into the richest, most powerfulnation in the world's history. That nationis the United States of America. Morethan ample proof of this is provided in theBible, in history, and in the sciences ofethnology and philology. Therefore, byvirtue of our race and calling as God'sservant nation, we, as individuals and asa nation, are covenant-bound to keepGod's Commandments, Statutes, andJudgments. Even if this were not true, byvirtue of being a Christian nation, we areobligated to keep these laws, as hasalready been pointed out.

At the ratification of the Constitution, our "Novus Ordo Seclorum," the NewOrder of the Ages, stood as before Moseswhen he said, Behold I have taught youstatutes and judgments, even as the Lordmy God commanded me, that you shoulddo so in the land whither ye go to possessit. Keep therefore and do them; for this isyour wisdom and your understanding inthe sight of the nations, which shall hearall these statutes, and say, Surely thisgreat nation is a wise and understandingpeeple. For what nation is there so great, who has God so nigh unto them, as theLord our God is in all things that we callupon Him for? And what nation is thereso great that has statutes and judgmentsso righteous as all this law which I setbefore you this day? Deut. 4:5-8

Our Founding Fathers came close tomeeting God's requirements; in many

12

Page 15: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

respects the Constitution of the UnitedStates parallels the system ordained bythe Almighty. Since the points ofdivergence did not quickly bring disas-trous results, the nation has grown andprospered as no nation ever has, exceptancient Israel under the righteous reignsof David and Solomon.

Had the Founding Fathers taken theDivine law "in toto" as the Constitutionand law of the land, none of thepenalties for disobedience to Divine lawwould now be upon us. Since we partiallyobeyed and partially disobeyed, we haveexperienced mixed blessing and cursingin our short history. We have had nearly200 years in which to correct thedeficiencies in our system; but rather wehave added to them by legislation basedon false premises.

There are three other omissions in ourConstitution and system which accountfor the major share of our social andeconomic difficulties today-(1) the fail-ure to prohibit Slavery, (2) the failure toprohibit usury (interest), and (3) thefailure to set the tax base and the rate. This listing is not necessarily in the orderof importance.

The slave trade was permitted tocontinue for 20 years in the slave states inorder to bring all 13 states into the union. The evils of forced servitude and itsattendant interbreeding of the races needno comment. We are all familiar with thesuffering and loss of Iife and propertyduring the Civil War as well as theinjustices that followed. Our present

13

Page 16: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

social plight is perhaps the mostdamaging consequence of the slaverydebacle. Our leaders have listened to the"seed of the serpent" (Gen. 3:15) andhave struck down all legal bars to racemixing. Furthermore they are nowFORCING the mixing of the races. Racemixing is unnatural and is a violation ofDivine law. It always results in crime andviolence-not just in our time, but fromthe very beginning. (See Gen. 6:2, 11.)According to late newspaper reports, integrated schools are unsafe for bothpupils and teachers, learning is almostnil, and the whole school system is on theverge of breakdown. The only solution isGod's plan-separation of the races.

God's law requires that all men receiveequal consideration before the law andthat all conform to the law. It does not, however, permit the mixed occupancy ofone land by diverse races. This law isquite reasonable when we consider thedifferences in habits, moral standards, ethics, and conduct of the different races. In addition, Divine law does not permitother races to hold any public office inIsrael. (See Deut. 23:1-8.)

Our government should negotiate withAfrican nations for the return of theNegroes to Africa. Then a major share ofour foreign aid should be used to helpthem become a stable people. There areenough educated among them to accom-plish this with help from us. It would be ablessing to them and to us.

Divine law permits, and encourages, people of other nations and races toattend our schools and universities. (SeeIsa. 2:2-5.) This precept is confirmed inMicah 4:2-And many nations shall

14

Page 17: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

come, and say, Come, and let us go up tothe mountain of the LORD, and to thehouse of the God of Jacob; and He shallteach us of His ways, and we will walk inHis paths: for the law shall go forth ofZion, and the word of the LORD fromJerusalem.

You shall not take interest from yourbrothers; interest upon money; interestupon food; interest upon anything whichcan be lent at interest. You may chargeinterest to foreigners; but from yourcountrymen you shall not take interest.Deut. 23:20-21 (Fenton translation)

Many people erroneously equate freeenterprise with capital ism. Free enter-prise rests on the accepted principle thatman has the right to accumulatepossessions and to risk what he possessesin investment in industry and businessand that competition, as opposed tomonopoly, is the life-blood of the system.

On the other hand, capital ism is thesystem of private banking interests thatissue, control, and manipulate the moneyof a nation as a commodity, realizingexcessively enormous profits from suchoperations. Debt is economic slavery, andcapitalists grow fat on the debt of thepeople. Without debt there could be nousury, and without usury there would bevery little debt. Capitalism would cease toexist. Capitalists have stolen the mediumof exchange from the people and made ofit a commodity whereby they rule over us.

The United States began with a freeenterprise system, which is Divinelyordained; but since the Constitution did

15

Page 18: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

not prohibit the taking of usury, the firstbank was chartered in 1791, only twoyears after the government was declaredto be in operation and the same year thethe 13th state ratified the Constitution.

(Spaceforbids the details of the growthof banking in the United States, but it isdiscussed in many books, some of whichcan be found in your public library.)

The banking business grew so fast thatThomas Jefferson said, "I believe thatbanking institutions are more dangerousto our liberties than standing armies.Already they have raised up a moneyaristocracy that has set the government atdefiance.' ,

In 1861, President Lincoln's adminis-tration appl ied to the money changers ofNew York for a loan to carryon the CivilWar. The bankers agreed, but with theinterest rate to be on a sliding scale from24 to 36 percent. The President andSecretary of the Treasury refused theoutrageous terms. Congress then issued$450 million of full legal tender green-backs. It was real constitutional money, but the bankers had become powerfulenough by then to force the value down toalmost nothing.

P. E. Gardner states in his book, "OurMoney System," that after Congress hadordered the greenback issue, the follow-ing editorial appeared in the "LondonTimes": "If this mischievous financialpolicy which had its origin in the NorthAmerican Republic should become en-durated down to a fixture, then thatgovernment will furnish its own moneywithout cost. It will payoff its debts andbe without debts. It will have all themoney necessary to carryon its com-

16

Page 19: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

merce. It will become prosperous beyondprecedent in the history of the world. Thebrains and wealth of all countries will goto North America. That government mustbe destroyed or it will destroy everymonarchy on the globe."

This statement shows that the moneychangers well know the merit and theblessi ngs, to the people and nation, ofgovernmental issue of money withoutinterest or metallic backing.

The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 gavethe bankers complete control of themoney-and thereby the control of theeconomy. They issue and own all themoney in the nation. This private bankingcartel creates money for the cost of theprinting-$8.41 per ~,000 bank notes ofany denomination.

When the government borrows onebillion dollars, it turns over to the bankersan interest-bearing, tax-free governmentbond and receives that amount in credit. As our banking laws require only a 20percent reserve, the bankers can createan additional $4 billion in credit and lendit at interest to states, municipalities, businesses, and individuals.

All this created "debt money" is LENTinto circulation and draws interest until itis paid back to the money changers whogot it in the first place for just the cost ofprinting. Every dollar in currency thatyou have is a dollar of DEBT, and you arepaying interest on it. One billion dollarsat 7% pays the bankers $70 million eachyear and removes that much fromcirculation. Multiply this by the billions ofdebt in this country, and you can see theenormity of the crime that is beingcommitted against the nation every year.

17

Page 20: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

The only way the interest gets back intocirculation is by more and more borrow-ing from the bankers; otherwise therewould soon be NO MONEY in circula-tion. The debt and the interest go higherjust to keep the same amount of money incirculation.

This is the sole reason why we have theparadox of poverty in the midst of plentyand why poverty becomes more wide-spread day by day. All usury (interest) isfinally paid by the individual consumer inincreased prices and taxes. TH IS ISINFLATION. Inflation is part and parcelof the debt-usury money system; thesystem cannot operate without a constantincrease in the debt, usury, andINFLATION. These are the seeds ofdestruct ion inherent in the FederalReserve banking system.

Some economists tell us that inflation iscaused by excessive spending by thepeople and by government. While this isa contributing factor, it is true ONLYbecause the money spent is BORROWEDAT INTEREST. Under a system ofinterest-free money, the only thing thatcould cause inflation would be under-production. But the law of supply anddemand (a God-given natural law)control'S both production and spendingand maintains a fair and reasonable pricelevel in a free economy. The debt-usurymoney system of the Federal Reservebankers is the SOLE cause of inflation; itis the root of all our evils. It must bedestroyed as Luke 3:9 says, And now alsothe axe is laid unto the root of the trees:every tree therefore which brings notforth good fruit is hewn down and castinto the fire. May God speed the day!

18

Page 21: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

On the ot her hand, God's freeenterprise system is so good that it hassurvived up to now IN SPITE OFCAPITALISM and has produced theplenty that makes the United States therichest, most powerful nation in all theworld's history. But capitalism, even as itcoexists with free enterprise, has placedmost Americans in economic bondage tothe bandit bankers; and the debt inAmerica, public and private, now exceeds11/2 TRILLION DOLLARS. How muchmoney, at the current rate of interest, does this debt take from circulation?Remember when figuring that thissame amount is added to inflation and isthen borrowed again by the people or bygovernment just to keep an adequatesupply of money in circulation. Next yearanother circle will be added to the spiralas a result.

So Deut. 28:43-44 has been fulfilled-The stranger that is within thee shall getup above thee very high; and thou shaltcome down very low. He shall lend tothee and thou shalt not lend to him: heshall be the head, and thou shalt be thetai/.

The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 wasballyhooed as the cure-all for theeconomy. It was said that we would haveno more booms and busts. However, since 1913 we have had booms and bustson an average of one every seven years.(The econom ists descri be these as"periods of overheated economy followedby recession.") Through them all, withthe exception of the early part of thedepression of the 1930's, we have hadCONSTANT DEFLATION of ourmoney-even through the recessions.

19

Page 22: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

The present dollar is worth only a fractionof the 1929 dollar. The recessions werearranged by the bankers as a diversionarytacdc to obscure the deflation of the valueof Hleir money and to deceive the people.

The law of supply and demand, operat ing without interest, wi II maintaina stable economy, continuing a high levelof prosperity with neither inflation norrecession.

The Divine law provides Seven-YearCycles and Fifty-Year Cycles in businessand agriculture for the benefit of thepeople and the nat ion. All moderneconomists, regardless of their knowl-edge or ignorance of Divine law, dorecognize that there is a seven-year cyclegoverning the ups and downs of businessand that a crash comes every fifty years.Statisticians have expended much energyand millions of dollars obtaining thissame evidence. However, this informa-tion can be found in the 23rd, 24th, and25th chapters of Leviticus. Farm econo-mists would find here also the simpleanswers to their farm problems.

The only workable solution to the wholeeconomic problem-inflation, debt, pov-erty, and unemployment-is the outlaw-ing of capitalism, i.e., the debt-usurymoney system, and the restoration of ourmoney to a Constitutional basis-with nointerest charge allowed at any level or byany person or business of any kindanywhere in the nation.

Everytime interest is charged, inflationresults because money is spent out ofcirculation with no value received.

Cause-interest; result-inflation.It's as simple as that. .~Do the Congress and the President

20

Page 23: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

have the courage to correct this evilsituation by outlawing the interest chargeat its source and all the way down theline? Do they have the courage to outlawprivate banking interests, including theinternational money changers, otherwiseknown as the Federal Reserve System?

Such action would bring prices down 25to 50 percent with no drop in wages.Since there would be no public debt, taxes would make a spectacular drop.Full employment would follow, pollutionwould be whipped, our cities beautified, hunger and poverty only a memory. ThenDeut. 28:12-13 would be fulfilled, Thoushalt lend to many nations, and thou shaltnot borrow. And the Lord shall make theethe head, and not the tail: and thou shaltbe above only, and thou shalt not bebeneath. We should only expect to bebeneath when our entire economy isbased on debt and usury as it is atpresent. These make it a false economy, and any appearance of prosperity is anartificial prosperity.

The evil money system is nowvulnerable-Federal Reserve notes havebeen declared in a court of law to beunconstitutional money. This declarationconfirms the unconstitutionality of theentire banking system. A trial judge hasdeclared Federal Reserve notes to be ofless value than ten-cent trading stamps.stamps.

Congress should abide by God's Wordby repealing the Federal Reserve Act of1913 and confiscating all the assets of theFederal Reserve System. Rev. 18:6 tellsus to double unto her double according toher works: in the cup which she hathfilled fill to her double.

21

Page 24: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

Along with the repeal of the FederalReserve Act, all other banking laws nowin force should be repealed and all privatelending institutions national ized.

A government agency under thepeople's Representatives should be esta-blished to operate every bank in thenation. Private banking interests must beforever outlawed. The charging ofinterest by any person, business firm orinstitution of any kind must be made ahigh crime!

Congress must obey Article I, Section8, Paragraph 5 of the Constitution byissuing the nation's money. The moneyneeds no metallic backing for the REALwealth of the country-the naturalresources and productivity of thepeople-is far better than gold.

The government should operate thebanks for the good and convenience of allthe people. Loans must be made withoutinterest charges. A service or bookkeep-ing fee would be permissable-perhapsthree percent-but not an annual interestcharge-only a one-time charge over thelife of the loan.

The nation would so prosper underthese conditions that the next logical stepwould be a tax adjustment. All currenttax laws should be repealed and thestraight ten-percent income tax institutedas the ONLY tax, as explained in the nextsection.

When God gave Israel the law, He toldthem, Hearken unto the commandmentsof the Lord thy God... And thou shalt notgo aside from any of the words which I

22

Page 25: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

command thee this day, to the right hand,or to the left. Deut. 28:13-14

We have gone aside, to the left, fromHis commands. The U.S.A. has practi-cally become a welfare state, which is aform of socialism. Welfare statism is theinner decay that destroys republics andfree enterprise and that smothers thecreative and productive spirit of man.Welfare statism is dependent on massivefederal spending, which in turn demandsa high rate of taxation. Thus we have thesimple paradox of the people buying theirown economic slavery. Divine lawprevents such economic slavery by thesimple expedient of limited taxation.

The Divine law does not permit a debtbuild-up to be inherited by the nextgeneration, for all debts must beliquidated or cancelled every seventhyear. (See Deut. 15:1-4.) Consider ourpresent plight, which is a result ofdisobeying God's law. How many genera-tions are mortgaged by our national debt?Every baby at birth now owes almost$3,000, on which the annual interest andrelated costs amount to approximately$300. If we allow this increasing debt tocontinue, how much will he owe at age21?The old radical-liberal cliche "we oweit to ourselves" is not true. We owe it tothe international money changers-thesame gang of thieves that Jesus drove ourof the temple.

We continually hear of lawmakerslooking for additional sources of taxes orfor a broader tax base. The problem hereis that there is only ONE source oftaxes-the consu mer, the ind ividualcitizen. He ultimately pays ALL taxes, regardless of the level on which they are

23

Page 26: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

levied. The manufacturer includes hisproperty tax, excise tax, corporation tax,and every other tax except perhaps hispersonal income tax in the price for whichhe sells his goods. So do the wholesaler, the distr!butor, the transportation indus-try, and the retailer. In all there are over100 different taxes included in the priceof a loaf of bread, for instance. Deductthe taxes and the usury, which is added inthe same way, and bread prices woulddrop drastically. Between usury andtaxes the consumer is really played for asucker.

This is why Divine law provides foronly ONE tax, which is the Tithe; and therate is a straight ten percent-NOTGRADUATED. The law allows no exemp-tion and no deductions; therefore, it hasno loopholes. It is fair and equitable. As itis not graduated, the wealthy man has noreason to withhold investment in newprojects, which in turn provide jobs andcontribute to the prosperity of the people. The manufacturer is not driven to foreigncountries to escape the exorbitant taxeshe is assessed under our banker-controlled economy.

Our gross national product has passedone trillion dollars annually. A ten-percent tax on that amount wouldproduce one hundred billion dollars. Withdebt and interest eliminated; with nosubsidies needed for farmers, railroads, airlines, or any other businesses; with theflood-tide cost of crime reduced to atrickle; with no welfare projects exceptfor the disabled and elderly, and verylittle of that because prosperity wouldenable each person to provide for his ownretirement; and with lower prices result-

24

Page 27: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

ing from the prohibition of usury-underthese conditions the ten-percent taxwould be more than sufficient to operategovernment on ALL levels.

God's law permits no property tax for itis discriminatory and actually amounts toa fine assessed against the industriousand thrifty. It discourages stability andbrings about a shifting, irresponsiblecitizenry with no ties to the land.

Under our present system, accident, sickness, or old age easily dispossesses aman of his home but in no way reduceshis expense. Rent is higher than taxes. Many elderly are dispossessed and spendtheir last years in an "institution"because of the unrighteous property tax.

Anti-trust laws have their roots inDivine law. Isa. 5:8 says, Woe to themthat join house to house, that lay field tofield, till there is no place, that they maybe placed alone in the midst of the earth.

Jehovah, speaking through the prophetIsaiah, condemns monopolies, conglom-erates, chain stores, corporate farms, andall other combines whose operationsbring a disproportionate share of thewealth under the control of a few, orwhich strangle competition.

It is God's plan that all citizens share inthe wealth of the nation, not by dole norfederally guaranteed family-income pro-grams but by opportunity and initiative.Micah 4:4 says, But they shall sit everyman under his vine and under his fig tree;and none shall make them afraid: for themouth of the LORD of hosts hath spokenit.

Page 28: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

There should be no fear of violence, poverty, inflat ion, depression, mortgageforeclosure, tax collector, nor any of theother fears that bring on anxiety and illhealth.

For many years our country wasplagued with agricultural surpluses. Thegovernment bought and stored them athigh cost to the taxpayers in an effort tohold farm-produce prices stable. Little isnow said about surplus crops, but we doread often of crop-allotment programsand payments made to farmers forlimiting acreages of certain crops.

We have now also been alerted to theharmful effects of pesticides on wildlife, fish, and people. Then there is thequestion of the reduced nutritional valueof foods raised on ground fertilized withchemicals or commercial fertilizers.

God's law solves these problemswithout subsidies or bureaucratic con-trols. American farmers have, after manyyears of trial and error, adopted some ofthe Biblically required practices. How-ever the nation has missed the mostbeneficial agricultural, health, and eco-nomic feature of the Divine farminglaws-the one that requires the land to liefallow every seventh year. (See Ex. 23:11and Lev. 25:4.) There is a multiplepurpose in this law-it maintains soilfertility and assures plentiful yield of thehighest nutritional value, while eliminat-ing insects, plant diseases, and over-production. If all farm land lay fallowevery seventh year, the life cycles ofcrop-destroying pests would be inter-

26

Page 29: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

rupted and the need for insecticidesgreatly reduced. The surpluses built up insix years of farming would be used upduring the sabbath year, and as a resultprices for farm products would remainstable at a fair return to the farmer.

This seventh-year fallow, as well as theseventh-year release of all debts, leads toeconomic stability and defeats theadverse effects of the seven-year cycles.Had we observed the sabbaths of theland, we would have no farm problems,no quotas, no land banks, and nowholesale farm bankruptcies. Neitherwould many farmers be fleeing to thecities. Correct the wrongs by adoptingGods agricultural laws and watch thefarmers move back to the land.

Can you see that the foregoingexamples are based on sound economicprinciples are are not just "whims ofGod," or religious dogmas? Can you seethe operation of the principles of causeand effect? All the laws of God are sobased, assuring "life and good" as thelogical effect of obedience to them. Theseprinciples operate in all Divine law-eco-nomic, health, criminal, and social.

Divine law gives us the most effectiveof crime deterrents. This is the law ofrestitution. (See Exodus 22.) For thestealing of livestock, which would alsoinclude the tools of a man's trade, theconvicted thief is required to pay hisvictim four to five times the value of thestolen goods PLUS the state's penalty fortheft.

Page 30: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

He who steals money, embezzles, ordefrauds must pay his victim double theamount of the theft plus the state'spenalty. The vandal, rioter, or arson ist isrequired to restore or replace that whichhe has damaged or destroyed, plus thestate-imposed penalty. Had this law beenin effect during the last several years, doyou think there would have been riots, bombings, or burned-out cities in ourland?

The crimes of murder, rape, kidnap-ping, and adultery call for the deathpenalty with no "not guilty by reason ofinsanity" provisions. (See Ex. 21, Deut.22, and Num. 35.) An insane murderer orrapist is far more likely to repeat than asane one. So shalt thou put away evilfrom among you; and all Israel shall hearand fear. Deut. 13:11

One who swears falsely against anothersuffers the same penalty as would hisvictim had he been convicted. (See Deut.19:16-20.) That one would surely changea lot of testimony in court.

The state is required to inflict on onewho commits mayhem the same injury heinflicted on his victim-an eye for an eyeand a tooth for a tooth. [Surely at thispoint someone is immediately going toquote Matthew 5:38-39. However, ifthese verses are examined closely, oneshould see that Jesus is pointing out thedifferences between STATE and INDI-VIDUAL responsibilities and conduct.]

Notice that the victim of crime is giventhe utmost consideration and protection. We see here also the operation of the thelaws of cause and effect. Soshalt thou putaway evil from among you; and all Israelshall hear and fear. Deut. 21:21

28

Page 31: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

There are no instructions in Divine lawfor the imprisonment of convictedcriminals. The prison is used only todetain the accused until his trial, and ifconvicted, until the execution of hissentence. A look into our prison system, and a survey of the lives of those releasedfrom prisons, why this is so. Prisonsrelease more criminals than are sen-tenced to them. Restitution and thepublic whipping post (Deut. 25:1-3) arethe Biblical methods of dealing with thosewho commit crime-other than capitalcrimes.

The laws governing the armed forcesare given in the 1st and 26th chapters ofNum bers and the 20th chapter ofDeuteronomy. God's law calls for theuniversal military training of every fityoung man, beginning at age 20. If warcomes, volunteers for combat are thenrecruited from this vast reservoir oftrained men. The cowards and fcrint-hearted are exempted as they would be ademoralizing influence on the other men.(See Deut. 20:8.) Men who do not"volunteer" for combat can be used innoncombatant service positions.

Units are made up in the individualstates, much as is our National Guardtoday. Chaplains are assigned to eachunit. Before going into combat thevolunteers choose their own officersunder whom they are to fight. Followingsuch Divine procedures creats a highlyeffective fighting force of men servingwith those they know personally andoperating under the command of the

29

Page 32: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

best-qualified leaders among them. Most of these precepts were followed

in our Revolutionary War and to a greatextent in the Civil War; and somevestiges of Divine Law for the Militarywere obeyed as late as the Spanish-American War. It is significant that as weturned away from God's Law in otherareas, we also began disobeying God'smilitary laws; and within another genera-tion America "won" its last war.

Deferment from mil itary service iscovered in Deuteronomy 20 for any manengaged to be married, building hishome, raising his first crop, or beginninga business; and Deuteronomy 24:5 statesthat when a man marries, he is deferredfor one year. No provision is made forwomen in the military.

Any person who has had militaryexperience can see the good sense inthese laws. The tragedy is that most ofour officials and top military officers donot even know such perfect Laws havebeen given for our good.

The health laws are quite simple. Theyinclude diet, sanitation, and isolation incase of communicable diseases. Today weexcel in sanitation and treatment-asidefrom the use of too many drugs. Therewould be far fewer calls for treatment ifwe would follow God's instructions ondiet. We have discovered, 3,000 yearslate, why God tells us not to eat animalfat; but we go on eating it and many otherthings the Creator declares unfit forhuman consumption. such as hogs,

30

Page 33: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

oysters, shrimp, clams, and other suchscavengers. Animals that carry certaindiseases are also forbidden for food. Forexample, rabbits and squirrels aresubject to tularemia, and the horse is acarrier of tetanus. Other animals thatdestroy the health of man if used for foodare mentioned in Lev. 11 and Deut. 14.

Many Christians, to excuse them-selves, quote I Tim. 4:4-5, For it issanctified by the word of God and prayer.Sanctify means to set apart for a certainpurpose. The creatures set apart byGod's word as being fit for food do notinclude those mentioned above. They arein the same class as the buzzard, hyena, bat, skunk, snake, etc.

Doctors tell us that 60 to 90 percent ofhuman ailments stem from tension, anxiety, and worry. Divorce lawyers saythat most divorce cases start with"money troubles." Money troubles causeworry, so both our domestic tranquilityand our health are disrupted by the evildebt-usury money system. Institute therighteous Divine system and watch a sicknation become a healthy nation. Deut.28:58-61 states, If you do not take care topractice the WHOLE of the things of thislaw, written in this book, and toreverence the glory of this magnificentrevelation of your EVER LIVING GOD;for the EVER LIVING will make your ownpunishments, and the punishments ofyour posterity, astounding by these greatinflictions and diseases, and sicknesses, and prostrations; and will turn upon youall the maladies of the Mitzerites[Egyptians] which you feared whenpresent with them, and they shall stick toyou; besides numerous diseases, and

31

Page 34: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

man y plagues that are not written in therecord of this law. (Fenton translation)Disobedience to any precept of Divine lawcontributes to the ills of the citizens.

Divine law permits no military alliancewith the heathen, for to ally with them isto invite military defeat or stalemate, asin Korea, Laos, and Vietnam. These wereand are U.N. and SEATO wars. DIRECTDivine action is promised against Israel'senemies if Israel obeys God's nationallaws.

NATO, as originally organized, waspermissible because all the originalmembers were of Israelite stock, finallynumbering 12. The admission of Turkey,Greece, and Italy added the non-Israelelement that will in time give us trouble. The Anzus Treaty-U.S.A., Australia, and New Zealand-is within the Divinemandate.

In case of attack by an aggressor, thecommand of God is to "destroy them!"(See Deut. 20:12-15.) Had we obeyed thiscommand in 1964, after the NorthVietnamese attacked our ships in theTonkin Gulf, the war in Vietnam wouldhave been resolved quickly in victory.

The question of foreign aid is debatedannually in Congress. It is generallycondemned by a majority of Americans. No doubt that foreign aid has beeninjudiciously administered and usuallyexcessive, but it was foretold andapproved by the Lord Jesus Christ, andgreat national blessing was promised as aresult. (See Matt. 25:30-46.)

32

Page 35: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

The Divine law is the interpretation, and the practical application, of God'swill on earth as it is in heaven (Mat.6:10). As pointed out previously, theUnited States began with a nationalsystem that fell only a little stiort ofDivine requirement. On this basis wegrew and prospered. When the om issionsin our system had brought upon us thepenalties that follow disobedience, oureconomists and lawmakers took steps tooffset the adverse effects. But, workingfrom false premises, they have aggra-vated, rather than diminished, ourdifficulties.

Some of our lawmakers, economists, and jurists have, in seeking remedies forour national ills, taken their cues from theCommunist-Social ist ideology, the veryantithesis of Divine law. This action hasresulted in more, not less, economic andsocial distress, for in so doing we haveviolated more of God's laws and therebyincreased our national sins. For thetransgression of the law is sin. I John 3:4

The penalties for all these trans~lres-sions are debt, poverty, crime, socialunrest, youth rebellion, and all the otherproblems we face. These fall naturally onus because we have violated natural laws. They become the "rod of God" and areintended to bring us to the realizationthat only His law and system will bringthe "American Dream" to fruition.

As the sins and the penalties thatfollow disobedience were compounded, concerned and aroused citizens beganforming action groups to "saveAmerica." There are at present some-

33

Page 36: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

where over 2,000 such groups andorganizations. While their motives arecommendable, they, like the economistsand lawmakers, have not discovered thereal CAUSE of our difficulties and sohave recommended measures that treatonly the SYMPTOMS of our national ills.

There is no need to review their manyprograms as we have all heard themmany times. While each program hassome merit, in that it deals with a specificevil, not one of them, nor all of themtogether, would, if enacted, do much ifanything to set the nation right. Theeffect would be about the same as pickingfleas off a dog. These groups have beenflea-picking for thirty years, and the dognow has more fleas than when theystarted!

Fighting Communism, inflation,Supreme Court decisions, and all theother evils that have befallen us, asthough these were the CAUSE of ourtroubles, is similar to a child fighting hisfather when the parent is applying therod of correction. These things thatplague us are "the rod of God" for ourcorrection. The nation's "reformers" aredecrying the rod rather than the deedsthat brought on the rod.

The ONLY program that will bring theAmerican Dream to fruition is theprogram to make the Divine law the lawof the land. This program includes all thegood, and none of the errors, of thepiecemeal programs of all the patrioticgroups; and it is easier to enforce.

If all the 2,OOO-odd groups that arecompeting for support would lay asideminor differences and join in UN ITY OFPURPOSE, there would be plenty of

34

Page 37: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

talent, money, facilities, and numbers tobri ng about all the' good of thei r demandsthrough this one program. Why settle fora pound of hamburger when you can getthe whole cow for the same price?

The time has come to quit fighting Godin the name of religion, economics, orpatriotism and start obeying Him. For hesays in Ezek. 20:33, 37, As I live, saiththe Lord God, Surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and withfury poured out, willI rule over you . .,AndI will cause you to pass under the rod andI will bring you into the bond of thecovenant ... And ye shall know that I amthe Lord.

Just how much fury poured out upon uswill it take to make us cast our visionbeyond the ends of our noses, turn fromour unrighteous ways, acknowledge God,and accept the personal and nationalinstructions He has issued? The Biblecalls this repentance. God has said, IWILL RULE over you. He IS ruling overus; that is why we feel the rod. Why notcooperate with Him and enjoy His favor?

The prophet Moses, through whomGod gave us His law, stated in Deut.28:15, But it shall come to pass, if you willNOT hearken unto the voice of the Lordyour God to observe to do all Hiscommandments and His statutes which Icommand you this day; that all thesecurses shall come upon you and overtakeyou. Now notice that Moses was speakingof the law for the government of thenation. Look up the word "statute" inyour dictionary.

Moses then named the curses thatwould result from violation of Divinenational law. Those curses include

35

Page 38: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

big-city blight, of which you read daily inyour newspaper; erosion of farm land andpest infection of crops; birth defects; fruitand grain blight; violence and fear on thestreets; traffic fatalities; mental healthproblems; sickness and disease; airpollution; military stalemate and defeat;vacilation and misdirection in govern-ment; immorality; broken homes; bank-ruptcies and mortgage foreclosures;inter-racial marriages; insan ity; hatredby other nations; foreign-born leaders inpolicy-making positions in government;control of our money by those whose firstloyalty is not to the United States;national debt; high taxes; and finallyinvasion by God's enemies. (See Deut.28:15-44.)

Robert Collier, in "The Covenant Law"says, "The Divine law is a perfectformula for national and world govern-ment, and, if followed, wduld bringhappiness, peace and prosperity for all. Itwas planned to meet the emergencies ofall time for all people.

"The despair and suffering of man, theintolerance and injustices now rampantare the net result of the abrogation of theSinai Code by man, who in his egothought he could form a government andeconomic system superior to that createdin Divine wisdom. Politicians and church-men are equally guilty in their attempt tothrust the Commandments, Statutes andJudgments into the musty archives ofempty churches. They cannot succeed forthe Divine law is immutable.

36

Page 39: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

"Until man realizes that the Divinelaws are the only workable set of laws forthe welfare of mankind, and returns themto their rightful place as the law of theland, man will continue to suffer, andGod will continue to scourge him as aviolator of the Supreme Law.

"The whole law, including the finan-cial, economic and criminal laws, stemfrom the Ten Commandments. And whatare the Ten Commandments? How manywho teach them are capable of unfoldingthe full significance of each command tothe students they instruct?

"Usually they are taught to becommitted to memory as verbatimstatements with the mechanical indiffer-ence that children are taught the alphabetand multiplication table. Even among theelders and clergy most are better able toexplain the degrees of their particularlodge or order than to explain the Code ofSinai. Yet never were laws created soimportant to our way of life. The foremostjudicial minds in history have neversucceeded in forming a set of laws thatcontain a particle of the instructivepotence we find recorded in the TenCommandments.

"By reading the last four books ofMoses wherein the Ten Commandmentsare discussed and defined, you canreadily see that the Divine law dealsdefinitely with principles and theirexpression. As Dr. Goard states, 'Noth-ing can be taken away without destroyingtheir universality of expression.' "

C. R. Dickey, in "One Man's Destiny,"says "They are as universal andinescapable as the law of gravitation, orthe ebb and flow of the tide."

37

Page 40: J. Franklin Snook America Needs The Divine Law

Peddie, the eminent economist, said hehad been informed from his youth thatthe Divine law was not applicable to theways of our modern civilization, but afterstudying Divine law for twenty years herealized that they were the only lawsthat can economically redeem the countryfrom the chaotic state into which it hasgotten itself.

Blackstone, who was probably the mosteminent judicial mind among men, hadthis to say about the Divine law, "Acommand concerns primarily a singleprescribed requirement; that is, it callsfor either definite action or inaction onthe part of those to whom the command isdirected. Consequently, disobedience toanyone of the Divine Commandmentsthrows the whole structure of national lifeout of harmony with universal law.

"This law of nature, being coeval withmankind and dictated by God Himself, is,of course, superior in obligation to anyother. It is binding over all the globe, inall countries at all times; no human lawsare of any validity if contrary to this; andsuch as are valid derive all their force andall their authority, mediately or immedi-ately, from th is orig inal. "

This same thought is given us in James2:10, For whosoever shall keep the wholelaw, and yet offend in one point, he isguilty of all.

Hear, a Israel: the LORD our God isone LORD: and you shall love the LORDyour God with all your heart, and with allyour soul, and with all your might. Andthese words, which I command you thisday, shall be in your heart: and you shallteach them diligently unto your children, and you shall talk of them when you sit in

your house, and when you walk by theway, and when you lie down, and whenyou rise up. Deut. 6: 4-7

This discussion of the Divine law isnecessarily brief. We have touched upononly those points that seem to becurrently of uppermost importance forthe "life and good" of the Americanpeople. This information should suffice toshow the superiority of God's laws andsystem over man's.
