Remember St. Stephen Parish in your Legacy. St. Stephen Parish has seen a decline in giving over the past year, while at the same time, expenses have gone up. The Parish would like to successfully continue with expansion of many worth-while programs and projects. Please ask Fr. Jerzy how you can help by giving to St. Stephen Parish General Fund.

Weekly Reflection The Adam and Eve story points out a very human trait-our tendency to “pass the buck” and not take responsi-bility for our choices. It is easy to find someone else to blame for the bad things that happen. We don’t want people to think less of us and we fear what will happen if the truth is known. We try to teach our children to tell the truth; but, what kind of example do we give them? Being truthful with ourselves is not easy; but, it is the first step. When we are honest with ourselves, we can also be honest with others. We all “mess up” and sometimes the consequences are very serious regardless of our intentions. God’s grace is with us and can help us face the truth, learn from what we did, and become a better person. How truthful are you willing to be?

Psalm 130:3-4 “If You, O Lord, mark iniquities, Lord who can stand?

But with You is forgiveness.”

Pacific Northwest Vocation Pilgrimage: Join Mater Redemptoris House of Formation on pilgrimage July 3-20, for women ages 18-28. Are You Being Called to the Priesthood? “Dare To Follow Retreat” for boys entering grades 6 through 10, you are invited to spend 3 days with others your age learning more about your Catholic faith, talking about the vocation of priesthood and having fun. The retreat dates are July 6-8. “Threshold Retreat” for young men entering junior or senior years of high school, or any year of college, join others for 3 days of prayer, conversation and reflections on the priesthood as well as lots of recreation, July 13-15. These retreats will be held at the Holy Cross Diocesan Center, 3710 East Avenue S., La Crosse. For a brochure or more information 608-791-2667 or [email protected].
