The company realised that using an app could be good for business because they appreciated that athletes are often on the move with their sport and quite often need a ‘nudge’ when they are away from their laptop or PC. The app enables athletes to search for and commit to nudges based on their chosen sport and situation that they’re currently in e.g. needing motivation, needing smarter ways to train, etc. The nudges are from a range of sports and cover a range of topics to help sportsmen and women with their performance. For example, if a sportsperson is feeling anxious before a competition, we have a nudge to support them... The best feature of the app is connecting with nudges on the move – giving sports people the opportunity to get support immediately when they need it – creating a ‘belong to a team’ feel. The app is aimed at sports men and women from amateur to elite level in a range of sports. The app has given the company another way to connect with athletes and provides them with an opportunity to ‘go mobile’ with their performance psychology support. CEMAS has supported us with the full planning of the app from start to finish via face to face meetings, Skype calls and emails. We have been massively impressed with the expertise and professionalism of the CEMAS team. They have been exceptional to work with and we would highly recommend them to anyone else who is looking to develop an app. The app gives users an opportunity to connect with ‘nudges’ on the move, when they are training and competing. The innovative ‘nudge’ system encourages sports people to choose and commit to a nudge which they feel will help improve their performance. They are also able to connect with other site users by commenting on their nudges and sharing their experiences.

Caiff hyn ei wneud drwy system ‘anogaeth’ arloesol sy’n annog chwaraewyr i ddewis ac ymrwymo i anogaeth a fydd, yn eu barn hwy, yn helpu eu perfformiad. Gallant gysylltu â defnyddwyr safleoedd eraill hefyd drwy wneud sylwadau ar eu hanogaeth a rhannu eu profiadau. Roedd defnyddio ap yn dda ar gyfer ein busnes gan ein bod yn gwerthfawrogi bod athletwyr yn symud o gwmpas yn aml oherwydd eu camp – naill ai wrth hyfforddi neu gystadlu – ac yn aml, mae angen anogaeth fach arnynt pan fyddant i ffwrdd o’u gliniadur/cyfrifiadur sefydlog.

Mae’r ap hwn yn galluogi athletwyr i chwilio am anogaethau sy’n seiliedig ar eu camp ddewisol a’u sefyllfa bresennol, ac ymrwymo iddynt, e.e. angen cymhelliant, angen ffyrdd gwell o hyfforddi, ac ati. Daw’r anogaethau o amrywiaeth o chwaraeon ac maent yn cwmpasu amrywiaeth o bynciau er mwyn helpu chwaraewyr gyda’u perfformiad. Er enghraifft, os bydd chwaraewr yn teimlo’n bryderus cyn cystadleuaeth, mae gennym anogaeth i’w helpu... Nodwedd orau’r ap yw’r gallu i gysylltu ag anogaethau ar ddyfeisiau symudol – gan roi cyfle i chwaraewyr gael cymorth yn syth pan fydd ei angen arnynt – gan greu ymdeimlad o ‘berthyn i dîm’. Mae’r ap wedi’i anelu at chwaraewyr o lefel amatur i lefel broffesiynol mewn amrywiaeth o chwaraeon.
