A virtual travelling in Turkey

Turkey is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea, the Aegean Sea, the

Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea.

Ankara is the capital and the major cities are Istanbul, Izmir, Bursa, Adana.

We are in Istanbul: Istanbul is the capital city of the province and it is the main industrial

and cultural center of Turkey.

Monuments in Istanbul

This is the Topkapi Palace: in the past it was the residence of the Ottoman Sultans, now it is the most important museum of Turkey which contains a rich collection of precious objects.

Hagia Sophia

This is the Hagia Sophia: it’s the most important and famous monument in

Istanbul. Before it was a church, later it was a mosque and now it is a museum.

The Blue Mosque

You can see the Blue Mosque: it is an important place of worship and it is so called because there are turquoise ceramic tiles on the

walls and the dome.

Grand Bazaar of Istanbul

This is the Grand

Bazaar of Istanbul,

one of the oldest in

the world. It’s a

covered market and

you can find spices, textiles and

sweets.
