Well done everyone!
Reverend Hilary Samson led our Carol Service in Trevenson Church on Wednesday 12th December. We were delighted to ask our former Science Technician, now Rector at Newlyn East Parish Church, to be part of our Christmas programme. It was a special evening, mixing the traditional and
contemporary aspects of the season.
A big thank you to the readers, school choir and
Jacob Coglan who provided the musical items.
Emanon, the Academy’s Christian Union, through Drama, reminded us of the ‘Bigger Picture’ and why Jesus was born . A collection of £124.73 was
taken for the work of Penhaligon’s Friends .
Fellowship and refreshments were enjoyed in Trevenson Hall after the service .Thank you to all those
who supported and helped make this occasion special.
Pool Market on Saturday morning resounded to the sound of carols and the Christmas message as students from local schools gave a programme of items throughout the morning .This event was orga-
nized by the Camborne-Redruth Methodist Circuit and there were artistic, musical and drama contri-
butions from Pool Academy students.
Miss Pearce provided the nativity animals with Emanon staging a sketch and the choir singing
carols.
Once more the Academy are grateful for all who gave up their time to put the Christ back into
Christmas.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Pupils who bring bikes and scooters into school—please make sure that you lock them
securely in the bike shed and do not leave them overnight. The bike sheds are always
locked during the day and there is a camera but we cannot guarantee the safety and
security of your bike. They are left at your own risk.

Music Lessons 2013
Spring Term Instrument Lessons start in week commencing Monday 14 January 2013 with the exception of Voice lessons which start in the first week back on Tuesday 8
January 2013.
With auditions last June and rehearsals throughout this
term, the passion and enthusiasm by staff from Drama,
Music and Art have combined to produce an amazing
show for this years Christmas school production.
On Tuesday local primary schools watched the
matinee and Wednesday/Thursday evening audiences
were entertained with a performance worthy of a West
End Theatre. Congratulations to all of the students and
staff involved !

Slices of Life by Connagh Jolly
Follett 8KB My painting features local places such as the Eden Project, an engine
house and the Lands End sign.
My painting has been influenced by Chagall’s geometric shapes, Escher’s
illusions and Dr Seuss’s colour.
The title of my painting is ‘Slices of Life’ and I have named it this because it is sectioned off in different colours (representing different views and
opinions) and the original pictures behind it represent parts of life.
Arts Award Students Visit the Eden
Project
Miss Smith, Mr Collins and 14 Arts Award students went to
the Eden Project for an Arts Award interactive conferance.
The students took part in a Drama workshop, and an Art and
printing workshop with John Keys. The students worked on
characterisation and improvisation techniques and created a
selection of prints. This visit was very valuable for the
students to complete their Silver Arts Award.
