Plumbing News: Whatis the Hot Water Division ofMurray Supply Companyand how did it come intobeing?

Joseph Roche: The hotwater division was the brain-child of our COO, GeorgeYezbak, who thought themarket would benefit fromtaking an employee andsolely devoting them to thearea of hot water, whether itwas a water heater, boiler orexpansion tank so that ourcustomer would have onepoint of contact to take careof all of their needs in thatone area. We have peoplein the market who special-ize in valves, or fixtures ormany other items but this isone area we felt could usesome attention.

Plumbing News: Howhas the reception beenwithin the marketplace sofar?

Joseph Roche: We havebeen pleasantly surprisedwith the amount of attentionthis program has brought usto this point, although weare only two years into theprogram we feel as if we arebecoming known as the “goto” place in the market forthe products we have beenproviding. The affiliationwith A.O. Smith has been in-valuable for us because itprovides us with instantname recognition and cred-ibility to our customers, any-one in the market is familiarwith the name and under-stands the quality that it con-veys.

Plumbing News: Whatare the facets of the pro-gram that you have put intoplace to make this work?

Joseph Roche: Thebiggest things we havedone is allowing the custom-ers a 24/7 phone numberthat they can call to getquestions answered or geta quote or purchase aheater if the situation callsfor it, in the Raleigh Apexmarket we offer 24/7 deliv-ery on our commercial prod-uct line as well as lift gatetrucks, stair climbers andother tools to make thingseasier on them. We alsohave recently added a12,000 square foot ware-house full of nothing butwater heaters to make sureto satisfy the inventoryneeds of our customers.

Plumbing News: Whatdoes the future hold for theprogram and what goals doyou have for the program?

Joseph Roche: We wereexcited to announce inJanuary of this year that theprogram would be extendedto include the Burlington,Greensboro and WinstonSalem markets to help growupon the success we havealready experienced in Ra-leigh. The branch in Win-ston is currently adding toits existing product offeringand we hope to garner thesame types of results wehave had before. The hope

from there is to identify othermarkets that we feel will bewell suited for the productsand services that we canoffer.

Plumbing News: Howcan a customer who feelsthey can benefit from theprogram or who has somequestions get in contact withyou?

Joseph Roche: I canbe reached at Murray SupplyCompany in Raleigh at 919-834-1661 or they can email me aquestion at [email protected] and I will bemore than happy to take careof whatever they need.

OASIS and Philips Partner to DeliverCleaner Water On-Demand

OASIS International ispleased to announce its newpartnership with PhilipsLighting. OASIS and Philipshave partnered to integratea unique disinfection solu-tion in OASIS' water cool-ers. Now, for the first time, water dispensed from cool-ers can be disinfected in-stantly and efficiently, on-demand with the PhilipsInstantTrust solution and willsoon be available in theOASIS KALIX® watercooler, and Aqua Pointe®and VersaFiller® bottle fill-ers.

Many consumers areconcerned about the qual-ity of drinking water. In

emerging countries theseconcerns may be due to thewater infrastructure, but theproblem is also prevalent inwestern countries.

With an increasedawareness of the dangers ofunpurified water among con-sumers, people are increas-ingly relying on their ownresidential filters, regardlessof whether there is a publicinfrastructure in place to de-contaminate water.

Philips InstantTrust disin-fects water as its being dis-pensed, up to 4 liters/minute, its simple and quickdisinfection process is idealfor water dispensing solu-tions such as OASIS' bottle

refill stations and water cool-ers. Its unique design worksindependently of water tem-perature, disinfecting bothhot and cold water on-de-mand.

The new PhilipsInstantTrust solution is de-signed to fit point-of-use wa-ter delivery solutions includ-ing taps, water pitchers, un-der-sink water filters andportable counter-top sys-tems. OASIS and Philipskeep working closely tomake it possible to integratethe InstantTrust into its en-tire product line.

First to market withInstantTrust water disinfec-tion inside will be the OASIS
