of photography, video, mixed media, fabric, installation, sculpture, digital art, handicrafts and interactive art

Editor’s Notethis month.

What started as a small idea quickly found itself a lovely team of editors and many more great minds.

Protagonist is a zine that demonstrates our unremitting fascination of empowerment, honesty and passion through art, music, photographs and fashion. For the our first issue, we based inspiration from the name of our zine itself. We potrayed our men and woman as strong individuals, that possesed thier own unique style. i hope that PROTAGONIST WILL developed into a medium of communication that enables individuals to network and share VARYING FORMS OF content.

Protagonist is about doing something for yourself. It’s about being the person you are for you and doing things for you, no one else. Might sound a little selfish, but don’t get me wrong. I am all about nice things and being nice to people, however there is a limit to it all. When enough is enough, you should start being your own person.

IN this issue, We also talk to the 18 year old, sarah whee, her creative process and we try to understand what are her aspirations- or how she got over the recent passing of someone she loved dearly.

it was the collective of stories and writing that served as a reminder that we can’t afford to let our negativities rule how we feel or act, instead keep going.

I see you in my dreams; in nightmares, tinged with love. You were like a bouquet of sunbeam that melted the ice of my soul, constructing rhythmic patterns of my pulse, swelling and blistering with strength as time wears on. I was focused on the way your eyes crinkle when you smile,the way you look in my eyes that my nerves fishtailed down my spinal cord and you, made me feel alive in ways I never knew I could.I wouldn’t choose anyone else to be sleepless with.Only you.

Such is the strangeness of the human heart. You would never understand how a human heart is capable of vacating such immeasurable and generous space for another.The lengths one would go to and those mistakes you’d fight for. All the struggles we went through, how you lost you, and I lost me.

After so many years, I still don’t know I still don’t know the better good.If staying or walking away justified my love better.I wish I understood, the affairs of the heart.She said that it was difficult to look at her heart again You know that this is true because the scars, you let them stay.
