Fall is in the air and the seasons are changing. Yes, you read that correctly, seasons do in fact change in the Florida Keys. You
may have to look a little more closely but it’s true. The leaves are still on the trees and we aren’t expecting any snow but it’s different around here - much different. You see, we’ve been holed up in the air conditioning all summer long, much like our northern friends spend the winters inside with the heat on. If you’re not outside playing in the elements, you’re inside trying to escape them. Same thing, just in reverse. We are just about to em-bark on a long winter of open windows, beautiful evenings and no bugs. It’s quite delightful actually!
We want to share a little of that with you in this month’s issue of Island Jane and FishMonster. On this side of things, we’ll give you a refresher course on diving do’s and don’t that you won’t want to miss and Capt. Sam will tell us all about those white PVC pipes you see lined up in the water….. you’ll be sur-prised.
You’ll smile when you read Amber and Michelle’s article as they critique each other’s style. We’ll get you think-ing about your home’s outdoor spaces and share some readers’ advice on the best places to walk in the Keys and much more.
Most importantly, as Thanksgiv-ing approaches, our thoughts go towards those that we are thankful to have in our lives. What comes to mind for me and the rest of us here at Island Jane and Fish-Monster is how truly grateful we are for you and the support you give us all year long. We appreciate all the letters and emails that you send and especially all the photos and stories that you contrib-ute. You are amazing and we want you to know the special place we hold for you in our hearts.
This November issue wouldn’t be complete however, without talking about the true meaning of Thanksgiving - island style of course. We hope you enjoy!
