Thank you for your amazing work and talent. We are forever grateful. We appreciate you

so very much.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! You ladies truly are the best at what you do and made our

day so very special!

These beautiful ladies are the whole package! Every single time they captured moments I am not even sure I appreciated until I saw the pictures. They are extremely proffesional & beyond talented!

A few questions we are often asked ~ just for fun!My ancé and I have debated having a First Look photo? Can you explain what a First Look photo is? And, what do you think about seeing each other before the ceremony? Some couples choose to do a rst look, some choose to wait until the ceremony and either way, we make it work with the proper planning. There are some awesome reasons for doing a rst look, so here’s some thoughts for you.A rst look goes something like this; we nd a beautiful private spot, away from all the urry of preparation and set your groom up with his back A rst look goes something like this; we nd a beautiful private spot, away from all the urry of preparation and set your groom up with his back turned to the you. Then we get you all set up, dress, hair and make-up looking fabulous, and then your team (and us) back away. This is a moment that is just between you and your (almost!) husband. We are shooting from a distance with long lenses to allow you both to take the moment in, to see each other for the rst time on your wedding day, to feel the emotion and joy of what you are about to do- together. Being able to have this moment, just between each other, instead of in front of everyone during the ceremony allows for a different kind of intimacy, allowing it to truly sink in and enjoy between each other, instead of in front of everyone during the ceremony allows for a different kind of intimacy, allowing it to truly sink in and enjoy what is just yours as a couple. And from that moment on, the day is spent together!Remember the wedding day is yours, so no matter what you decide, the main thing is that you choose what is right for you as a couple.

We’d love to set aside some time for an engagement shoot. Is this something you do?We love engagement shoots! We work with you to plan the engagement shoot of your dreams, including location selection and wardrobe recommendations. Additionally, we can even help you design pieces for your wedding using your engagement shoot photos for sign-in boards, guest books, save-the-date cards, thank you cards, table place settings, and much more. Island Moments Photography also offers many wonderful album options to help you remember your engagement shoot forever. Be sure to check out page 8 of this issue for more information about scheduling your own engagement shoot for a lifetime of special memories!

We recently had the privilege of photographing Kris & Emily’s gorgeous wedding this last fall.

Brisk weather matched the racing pulse of friends and family alike as the two said “I do.” Because weddings are a urry of excitement

and special moments between loved ones, family and friends, it is important to not only capture those smiles,

demure glances and beautiful owers; stunning photography demure glances and beautiful owers; stunning photography also captures the wishes of the client.

How can you be prepared for the biggest day of your life so far?

Here, Emily and Kris share:

THE BEST ADVICE FOR A BRIDE. “Take your time and have fun! Try to enjoy everything - even the stress!”

THE BIGGEST SURPRISE ABOUT THEIR WEDDING DAY. “Seeing everything set up and complete it blew us away how amazing everything came “Seeing everything set up and complete it blew us away how amazing everything came

together!”

THEIR FAVORITE PHOTO MOMENT. “That one moment when you look into your groom’s eyes and forget the camera. I can still

close my eyes and see that moment.”

WHAT THEY LOVED MOST ABOUT WORKING WITH ISLAND MOMENTS PHOTOGRAPHY. “We loved how fun and energetic they are. The ideas they had and poses were fun and easy. “We loved how fun and energetic they are. The ideas they had and poses were fun and easy. The end result of our wedding photos was absolutely outstanding. We couldn't have made a

better choice!”

HOW TO TAME THOSE WEDDING DAY NERVES. “Forget about all the people and the stress and prep and think about how much love you

have for your groom. Think about all the times you laugh and smile together.”

WHICH ONE MOMENT WILL LAST FOR THEM FOREVER. WHICH ONE MOMENT WILL LAST FOR THEM FOREVER. Emily says, “My father daughter dance I will never ever forget!

I’m a huge daddy’s girl!”

• Be sure to have a hair and makeup trial at least a month before your wedding. This will give you peace of mind to know exactly how you will look and give you the opportunity to change things in advance if necessary. Make sure to bring all jewelry to the trial to see how makeup shades work with the pieces.

•• Have your orist deliver your owers to where you are getting ready, not the ceremony venue. Since you never know when the mood will strike for a great photo, you’ll want your owers there and ready to go.

•• Find out what the rules for photographs are at the ceremony location. All venues are different, some restricting the location of photographs and even the times in which they are permitted.

•• If possible, arrange to have any formal photographs you can taken before the ceremony. Getting some of these done early in the day frees up the rest of your time to spend with your guests. You will have more time to go straight to the cocktail hour and catch up with loved ones without stress.

•• Have food delivered to your getting -ready location. It may be hectic, but take the time to have a bite before the wedding since it will be a while before you have the opportunity to nourish yourself during the reception. Also - have someone in your bridal party bring munchies along for the after ceremony photos. Non-sticky nger food is safest!

•• Prepare an emergency bridal kit with clear nail polish, mints, a sewing kit, stain treater, Visine, safety pins, bobby pins, pain reliever and mini deodorant.

•• Allowing 50% more time for hair and makeup than you originally anticipated alleviates the number one reason wedding schedules end up running late. This will assure you have plenty of time for all the portraits you want to take before the wedding.

• Make sure you discuss a “rain plan” with your venue just in case Mother Nature doesn’t see sunshine in the cards.

Two weeks before your wedding we will touch base via phone or e-mail to discuss your wedding day photo timeline. At this time we will also

provide you with our Complete Wedding Information form to ll out with all your wedding details including

locations, family members, special wedding day events, vendors and much more. This information

will ensure we are all on the same page for an will ensure we are all on the same page for an unforgettable and stress-free event!

30 MINUTES AFTER THE CEREMONY

This is traditionally the time that we take your family photographs. It’s important to gather anyone you want included before they “escape” to your venue or just for lunch! We love when you assign someone that knows family members from both the bride and groom’s side. It helps us to take these important photos quickly so we can move on to the next step.

1-2 HOURS AFTER THE CEREMONY

Now comes the fun part! Your formal portraits with your bridal party. We travel to the pre-selected locations. Generally we capture photos with the entire bridal party rst - in many combinations. Then we want to focus on just the two of you.

1/2 HOUR BEFORE THE RECEPTION

WeWe prefer to get you back to the reception at least 30 minutes early so you can relax and re-group. before the frenzy of your night begins. We’ll take a few minutes ourselves and then enter the dining room to photograph the cake and oral decor before the tables have been disturbed.

AtAt this time we strictly document the reception candidly as it unfolds, including the rst dances, toasts, dancing, and cake cutting. But don’t worry; we are always available for any photo request you may have throughout the evening. Just ask!

We’ve nished packing our bags and we’re reviewing your wedding information form one more time! We’re discussing all the details of the day - including any last minute considerations you may have shared with us.

2-4 HOURS BEFORE THE CEREMONY

WeWe leave the studio and head to the locations of where you and your groom are getting ready. The bride’s hair and makeup should be well underway to leave plenty of time for some fun getting ready shots and photos of you with close family members.

1-2 HOURS BEFORE THE CEREMONY

WeWe arrive at the preparation sites to capture the nishing touches of hair and makeup and to document the bride getting into her wedding dress and the groomsmen making their nal preparations. If there is not going to be a First Look photo then we take some time to complete some initial bride portraits as well as bride with parents and attendents.

1-2 HOURS BEFORE THE CEREMONY

WeWe arrange for a “rst meeting” for the bride and groom where they see each other before the ceremony. Again, this is a very personal decision to be made between the bride and groom. We are pleased to help make this magical moment happen if you choose for the First Look phoot moment!

30 MINUTES BEFORE THE CEREMONY

WeWe leave the preparations site to set out for the ceremony site. Here we coordinate and set up any equipment we need during the ceremony. We take a last look around and nd where the light is coming from to best document the ceremony. One of us will be on hand to to capture a few images of you and before you’re ready to make your grand entrance down the aisle.

A WEDDING DAY PHOTO TIMELINEA wedding is a whirlwind of events, gone in the blink of an eye. There’s little more important to a perfectly executed event than an organized timeline. If you are looking to effectively plan out your wedding day with your wedding coordinator or ancé, here’s a look at a typical wedding photo timeline from our point of view. This timeline will vary depending on which of our packages you invest in. But it gives you a basic idea of where we are and when! Regardless of your package selection, we are here to help assist you in planning out your day so that you can relax (as much as possible) and just enjoy every magical moment of your day.

Vintage-styled, with old furniture and funky clothes: Bring out your nostalgic or avant garde side with some dramatic, edgy modern shots coupled with retro stylings. At your favorite, cute coffee shop: Quirky and cozy, local mom and pop shops (Serious Coffee?) are a great way to take a quick break to refuel and to catch some local, architectural shots with you in the process. Seasonal: Catch the nuances of the seasons, including everything from a winter wonderland, to leaves of fall, to flowers in spring, to the lush, green summers in nearby beautiful fields and forests.

Images with your pet: What better way to capture your new family than by including a beloved shared pet in your session? Your favorite skyline: Your city is beautiful at any time of the year, and the skyline shares where you live now, a beautiful location that might change with time. A downtown urban session: Fun and funky, pictures in alleyways or in otherwise undiscovered locations of your area make for a more intimate view of the city. An amusement park: Nothing says fun like the Tilt-A-Whirl to go with your whirlwind romance. A romantic beach: In the morning, evening or any time of day, the sea meets an endless sky for a feeling of forever.

At the place he proposed: After all, what better way to capture an engagement than the place it all started! At your favorite restaurant: Meaningful memories happen with food, ambiance and your special song playing in the background. and, oh you can dress up! Doing your favorite activity: You both enjoy playing checkers. What better way to capture your personality than in the heat of game play, the agony of defeat, or the comedy of contemplating your next move? Where you first met each other: Whether your first meeting was a discussion at the library or fumbling for the door at the local coffee shop, going back to your beginnings is a marvelous memory.
