which was filled with all kinds of worrying thoughts none of them related to the

    lesson at hand.

Quietly the prince stood there for a while listening to the Sheikh's lecture and

silently he returned thereafter (after that). It is difficult to fathom (come to

understand) what charm these saintly people cast on the hearts. The feared princereturned to his place, not in an angry, revengeful mood but with a feeling of

admiration and devotion towards him. He later sent a bag of gold coins to the Sheikh.

Here comes the moral of the story. You would think that the Sheikh would

have thanked the prince immensely and prayed to Allah for his overall well-being,

good health and prosperity. No. The Sheikh was composed of a different soil than

other humans. He gave this memorable quote in return:

The person who spreads his feet does not spread out his hands (for begging).

The invaluable royal gift lay there without a taker.

When the Sustainer (Nourisher) is not recognized, even the kings become needy.

And if He is recognized, then Dara (an Indian prince of the 17th

    century) and Jam (a

legendary king of ancient Persia) are your beggars.

Freedom of heart is monarchy, (slavery to) the stomach is the instrument of death.

It's your decision: in your control lie the heart and the stomach.

    What is Madrasa?

(Paa Jaa Suraaghe Zindagiby Maulana Syed Abul Hasan Ali Nadvi,p190-190)

It is a centre where such noble men are prepared who are the inheritors of the Prophet

(peace and blessings be upon him), and who carry out the duties of God's viceroy

(Caliph). For me, madrasa is a factory for producing nd developing humans idealhumans.
