EnjoyStaffordshire.com is the first place to look for places to stay, eat and visit in Staffordshire!
Here are five great reasons to visit Staffordshire!
1. Two of the UK’s top theme parks are located in Staffordshire, and both have brand new rides and
attractions for 2015! Explore Europe’s only Thomas Land at Drayton Manor Park, which now includes
Flynn the Fire Engine, Captain’s Sea Adventure, Jeremy Jet’s Flying Academy and Sodor Airport, or try
the new Octonauts Rollercoaster Adventure in CBeebies Land and Enchanted Village at Alton Towers
Resort!
2. Trentham Monkey Forest, where 140 Barbary macaque monkeys roam freely in 60 acres of
Staffordshire countryside, is the only attraction of its kind in the UK. It’s part of The Trentham Estate,
which recently won the BBC Countryfile Garden of the Year award.
3. Staffordshire has more miles of canal than any other Shire county – great for running, cycling and
walking! It’s also the only UK county which has a National Park (the Peak District), The National
Forest, and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (Cannock Chase).
4. Stoke-on-Trent is a haven for fans of culture and heritage. It’s affectionately known as The Potteries,
as it’s the birthplace of the pottery industry, and the home of global brands like Wedgwood,
Portmeirion, Emma Bridgewater and Moorcroft. There are plenty of museums and factory shops to
visit. There is also a permanent display of The Staffordshire Hoard, the largest-ever discovery of
Anglo-Saxon gold, at the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery.
5. Staffordshire is also home to the National Memorial Arboretum, the UK’s National Centre of
Remembrance. Unwind with a stroll around 150 acres of Staffordshire countryside and commemorate
the personal sacrifices made by our Armed Forces and civil services at one of the 300 thought-
provoking memorials.
