Former Ironman Africa champion Kyle Buckingham has been an internationally recognised professional triathlete since 2014.

One of the top Ironman competitors globally, Kyle was ranked 8th and 9th out of 600 professional athletes in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

In 2018, he won the Ironman African Championship in Nelson Mandela Bay – and became the first South African to earn a Championship title. The previous year, he placed fourth in that same race and second at the Ironman South American Championship in Brazil.

Kyle is a nine-time Kona Ironman World Championship qualifier with a many competitive years ahead of him in the sport of triathlon.
