y One of the most significant plays of post-IndependenceIndia, Dharamvir Bharati's Andha Yug raises pertinentmoral issues in the context of Partition-related atrocities.

y The figure of Krishna is central to the narrative. Herepresents the infinite variety of ways in which the goodmanifests itself in the ordinary world. He is the man of

justice and truth.y The Kauravas, however, are unable to imagine the truth

about Krishna.y This failure of imagination becomes the cause of their final

undoing.



In 1960 he was appointed as Chief-Editor of the popular Hindi weeklymagazine Dharma Yug brought out by the Times of India Group, andmoved to Bombay.

He remained the Editor of Dharmayug till 1987 . During this long phasethe magazine became the most popular Hindi weekly of the country andestablished new heights in Hindi Journalism.

As a field reporter, Dr. Bharati personally covered the Indo-Pak war thatresulted in the liberation of Bangladesh.

He was a patriot, idealist and Indian independence activist.He had born in Tharoor village of Palakkad as the grandsonof the Ruler of palghat.

Graduated in Arts from Madras University and Bar-at-law

from Middle Temple. He joined the Indian NationalCongress in 1915 and served as the secretary of the Malabar branch of the Home Rule League after setting up practice inCalicut.

present a memorandum to the Secretary of State in

1917 .y He also wrote a dozen of books and collections of

essays.y Menon was the founder of Mathrubhumi Daily, a
