�RTI Act 2005 has been passed by parliament on 15 June 2005 and came fully into force on 13 October 2005.

�This Act is considered as a landmark step in the field of fundamental right of life and liberty guaranteed under Article 19 of the constitution of India.Article 19 of the constitution of India.

�The widest possible reach covering Central Government, State Government, Panchayat Raj, Local bodies and recipient of Government grants.

�The provisions of the acts are disclose and the under section 8 some are exempted from disclosure.

�Some of the states like Tamil Nadu had already introduced since 1997

�Transparency means that made decisions and their enforcement are achieved in a manner that follows rules and regulations.

�Good governance is a qualitative term which gets strengthened with people’s participation with the mechanisms of transparency and accountable.

�Kofi Annan said “good governance is perhaps the single most important factor in eradicating poverty and promoting development”. .

�Some barriers such as Lack of awareness, absence of transparency & accountability, corruption and failure to it, weak civil society, lack of strong institutions of governance.

�While having RTI Act in India, widespread of the corruption in governments never ends. Lets see somecorruption in governments never ends. Lets see some

�Pune Municipal Corporation refunded a sum of Rs. 3.59 crores taxing wrongly from large number of Punekars,

�65 year old man refused to bribe Rs. 1.00 lac, but got work done through RTI in Mumbai with Rs 10/. After a long wait and harassment, etc.

�Right to Information is an idea which is having a power to prevent from the unfair and unethical practices done by the politicians, bureaucrats, institutions, organisations, associations, agents etc. bureaucrats, institutions, organisations, associations, agents etc.

�Citizen doesn’t need to pay bribes as like before RTI Act.

�The concerned representatives and ministers are forced to release the sanctions for the various works/projects for the development. And even incomplete work could completed.

�The welfare schemes provided by the central and the state govt. such PDS, BPL, APL, AAY, ICDS, MG-NREGA,PMGSY, SSA, RMSA etc.

�The greater the access of the citizen to information, the greater would the responsive of govt. to community.

�It needs to be established Information cell which can easily accessible by local people in the local offices, it can be district accessible by local people in the local offices, it can be district commissioners office for all the detail programmes , projects, welfare schemes for different sections of the society for the inclusive growth within the nation.

�Corruption arising out of secrecy is no solution until the veil of secrecy is removed through one of the most important parameter of good governance, which is transparency.

�Policies are required to be made more transparent, because awareness (to know the information) is the most important for development and happiness in regards to human values.
