Why Diving as an Example?

S  Meaningful, learned new skills. S  Overcame a challenge

S  Skills that don’t apply to on-land survival

S  I perceive the world differently. S  Perceive marine life differently (whole new life from

ours)

S  When big issues are brought up such as shark finning, bleaching of the reefs, over fishing; I can go into an argument with a new perspective.

S  I have become more concerned about the environment.

What’s it say about me?

S  I enjoy facing new challenges.

S  I enjoy learning about the environment in a fun approach

S  I also enjoy acquiring new skills that not many people my age would be able to do.

What impact does what you have studied in class have on your learning

experiences?

S  Gained a better understanding of how emotions color my perceptions, decisions and thoughts. S  Emotional Coloring

S  Open-minded (reason)

S  Selectivity of perception can be dangerous. S  Losing buddy

What do you know about yourself as a student that will change how you approach learning in the future?

S  Being more open-minded S  Seeing both sides of an argument
