TENANT PROFILE ALDI is the common brand of two leading global discount supermarket chains that boast over 10,000

stores in over 18 countries that span the globe from the United States all the way to Australia.

ALDI—operationally split between Aldi Nord (known as Trader Joe’s in the U.S.) and Aldi Süd (known

as ALDI in the U.S.)—have an estimated combined turnover of more than $59 billion annually.

Founded by the Albrecht family in Germany in 1961, ALDI’s first U.S. flagship supermarket opened in

Iowa in 1976. Since then, the ALDI empire has grown to over 1,750 stores in 35 states, and the Com-

The Village of Barboursville was founded in 1813 by an Act of the Virginia Assembly. As

the Cabell County Seat, it became a busy town of commerce and politics. A port of call

for boats running on the Guyandotte River, Barboursville flourished as an industrial

center. Many visitors came to the area to establish deeds and records and appear

before the county court. During the Civil War several skirmishes took place in and

around the village. After the war, the County Seat was moved to nearby Huntington. As

the railroads and highways passed by, Barboursville became a quiet, residential

setting of historic homes and figures.

Huntington is located in western West Virginia. It is the county seat of Cabell County and also

stretches into Wayne County.

It is both a vibrant, energetic city and a place where heritage comes alive. Sitting on the Ohio River

at the point where West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky meet, Huntington is part of the largest inland

port in the United States.

As of the 2010 Census, Huntington’s population was 49,138. It is the second largest city in the state.

However, it is the hub of the Huntington-Ashland-Ironton metropolitan area, which spans seven

counties and three states and has a population of 365,419.
