General informationReading and storing the user manual

This user manual accompanies these iron decorative flower steps, straight (hereafter referred to as the flower steps) and contain important information on setup and handling.Before using the flower steps read the user manual carefully. This

particularly applies to the safety notes. Failure to do so may result in personal injury or damage to the flower steps. The flower steps is not a toy or a climbing frame for children. Store the user manual for further use. Make sure to include this user manual when passing the flower steps on to third parties.

SafetyProper useThe flower steps are exclusively designed for use in an outdoor garden or patio. It is only intended for private use and not suitable for commercial purposes. The per-shelf maximum load-bearing capacity of the flower steps is approximately 55.12 lbs (25 kg). Only use the flower steps as described in this user manual. Any other use is considered improper and may result in damage to property or may cause personal injury. The flower steps are not a toy or a climbing frame for children. The manufacturer or vendor cannot be held liable for damages incurred through improper or incorrect use.

Danger for children and persons with impaired physical, sensory or mental capacities (e.g. partially disabled persons, older persons with reduced physical and mental capacities) or lack of experience and knowledge (e.g. older children).

− These flower steps must not be assembled by children or by persons with impaired sensory or mental capacities or persons who do not possess adequate experience or knowledge.

− Keep children, infants and pets away from the assembled flower steps as they may try to pull themselves up on them, or climb onto them. The flower steps are not a toy or a climbing frame for children.

− Cleaning and user maintenance may not be performed by children.

− Make sure that children do not play with the packaging, plastic bags and protective films. Children may get caught in these items when playing and suffocate.

Choking hazard!The flower steps’ assembly uses small parts (e.g., screws, nuts and stoppers), which could cause a choking hazard if swallowed.

− Keep children, persons with impaired capacities and lack of experience or knowledge, and pets away from the flower steps during assembly.

Risk of injury and damage!Improper handling of the flower steps or any object on the flower steps may result in personal injury or property damage.

− Do not exceed each individual shelf’s maximum load-bearing capacity of 55.12 lbs (25 kg).

− Always place the heaviest flower pots or garden ornaments or other garden objects on the lowest shelf.

− Never stack filled flower pots or garden ornaments or other garden objects on the flower steps where they could fall from a height.

− Regularly inspect the flower steps for loose screws and nuts, warping, cracked welds, deformation, and other signs of damage, weathering, and wear and tear. If in doubt, do not use the flower steps and remove the flower steps from service immediately. Contact the manufacturer at the service address indicated on the warranty card.

First useChecking the flower steps and package contents

CAUTION!

Risk of injury!If you are not careful when removing the flower steps from their packaging, you may cause personal injury.

− The flower steps are made of metal, thus are heavy and may cause a hazard or personal injury. Do not tip the open packaging box upside down.

NOTICE!

Risk of damage!If you are not cautious when opening the packaging with a knife or another sharp or pointed object, you may accidentally damage the flower steps.

− For this reason, be very careful when opening the packaging.

1. Take the flower steps out of the packaging and check that all components and accessories have been received (see Fig. A).

2. Check whether the individual parts exhibit damage, deformation, or other visible defects. If this is the case, do not use the flower steps and remove them from service immediately. Contact the manufacturer via the service address indicated on the warranty card.

Basic cleaning − Remove the packaging material and all protective packing materials. − Clean all parts of the flower steps before first use as described in the

chapter, “Cleaning”.

WARNING!

Risk of injury!Improper handling of the flower steps’ components may result in personal injury.

− Always wear the appropriate protective equipment during assembly (e.g., steel-toed gardening boots, gardening or work gloves, protective eyewear, etc.).

− Keep children and pets away from the work area and away from the flower steps’ components. The flower steps contain small parts that may cause a choking hazard.

− Do not let children play with the flower steps’ components. These components are not toys for children.

− Find a flat, level area near the location where you want to place the flower steps. Ensure the flower steps’ components are handy.

Before tightening any screw, assemble all the parts first so that you can adjust their positions as necessary.

Assembling the frames1. Lay out one hook frame 1 , the cross brace 6 , one long L frame 4 , and

one M6 × 30 mm screw 9 . 2. Loosely secure the cross brace to the back of the hook frame and the long L

frame to the front of the hook frame by manually inserting and securing the M6 × 30 mm screw (see Fig. B). Repeat for the remaining hook frame and long L frame.

3. Take one short L frame 2 and match it up to the front of a hook frame.4. Make sure the holes in the short L frame face upwards. 5. Loosely secure the short L frame to the hook frame by manually inserting

and securing an M6 × 25 mm screw 8 (see Fig. C). Repeat for the remaining short L frame. Next, assemble the shelves (see chapter “Assembling the shelves”).

Assembling the shelves 1. Lay out one shelf 3 and an ornamental fringe 5 . 2. Align the screw holes. 3. Loosely fasten the ornamental fringe to the shelf with three M6 × 12 mm

screws 7 (see Fig. D).4. Check the position of the ornamental fringe on the shelf. If it is satisfactory,

tighten the M6 × 12 mm screws with either the open-ended spanner 12 or the ring spanner 13 . The shelf is now assembled (see Fig. E). Repeat for the remaining ornamental fringes and shelves. Next, combine the frames and shelves (see chapter “Combining the frames and the shelves”).

Combining the frames and the shelves1. Make sure one shelf 3 is upside down. 2. Turn the assembled frames upside down and place the topmost part of the

hook frames 1 on the shelf. Make sure the holes in the hook frames align with the holes on the shelf.

3. Loosely attach the shelf to the hook frames by manually inserting and securing four M6 × 25 mm screws 8 (see Fig. F). Repeat for the remaining shelves.

4. Carefully turn the loosely-assembled flower steps upright.5. Check the positioning of all components is satisfactory.6. Tighten all the screws with either the open-ended spanner 12 or the ring

spanner 13 .7. Carefully move the flower steps to the desired location. 8. Re-check that the M6 × 12 mm screws 7 , the M6 × 25 mm screws, and the

M6 × 30 mm screws 9 are still securely tightened. The flower steps are now ready for use (see Fig. G).

Combining sets of flower stepsYou can combine several sets of flower steps to form a series of flower steps.

1. Position the sets of flower steps next to each other. 2. Locate the plastic stoppers 14 in the hook frames 1 and the short L

frames 2 that are next to each other in the individual sets of flower steps (see Fig. H).

3. Remove the plastic stoppers. You may need to use a flat-headed screwdriver (not included).

4. Align the holes in both sets of flower steps. 5. Manually insert M6 × 38 mm screws 10 into the aligned holes.

6. Secure the M6 × 38 mm screws with the M6 nuts 11 (see Fig. I). Note that there will be two M6 × 38 mm screws and two M6 nuts if you have two sets of flower steps.

7. Check if the position of the flower steps is satisfactory. 8. Tighten the M6 × 38 mm screws and the M6 nuts with the open-ended

spanner 12 or the ring spanner 13 .

Combining straight and corner flower stepsYou can combine straight flower steps and corner flower steps to create a large semi-circular set of flower steps, or a large rounded-corner square set of flower steps or an oval set of flower steps.

− Follow the steps in the chapter “Combining sets of flower steps”, to create your desired flower steps shape.

Cleaning

NOTICE!

Risk due to improper handling!Improper handling of the flower steps may result in damage.

− Do not use any aggressive cleaners, brushes with metal or nylon bristles, sharp or metallic cleaning utensils such as knives, hard scrapers and the like. They could damage the surfaces.

1. Remove all flower pots, ornaments and objects from the flower steps. 2. Use a mild soapy solution on a damp sponge to wipe down all parts of the

flower steps. 3. Wait for all parts to dry completely before replacing flower pots, ornaments

and objects.

Storage − If you will not be using the flower steps for a prolonged time (e.g., one

month or more), store the flower steps in a cool, dry place. Avoid dust, water, extreme temperatures, high humidity and direct sunlight.

− Make sure the flower steps are stored in a such a way that it does not pose a hazard and that there is no danger of it falling from a height.

− Do not stack objects that exceed 55.12 lbs (25 kg) on each shelf. − Keep the flower steps and its components out of reach of children.

Primer usoComprobación de las gradas para flores y el contenido del paquete

¡ATENCIÓN!

¡Riesgo de lesiones!Si no tiene cuidado al sacar las gradas para flores del embalaje, puede lesionar a alguien.

− Las gradas para flores son de metal y, por tanto, son pesadas y pueden suponer un peligro o causar lesiones personales. No vuelque boca abajo la caja del embalaje abierto.

¡AVISO!

¡Riesgo de daños!Si no tiene cuidado al abrir el embalaje con un cuchillo o cualquier otro objeto puntiagudo o afilado, puede dañar las gradas para flores sin querer.

− Por este motivo, sea muy cuidadoso al abrir el embalaje.

1. Saque las gradas para flores del embalaje y compruebe que ha recibido todos los componentes y accesorios (véase la fig. A).

2. Compruebe si las diferentes piezas muestran daños, deformaciones u otros defectos visibles. De ser así, no use las gradas para flores y retírelas de inmediato para que no se utilicen. Contacte con el fabricante a través de la dirección de servicio técnico especificada en la tarjeta de garantía.

Limpieza básica − Retire el material de embalaje y todo el material protector del embalaje. − Limpie todas las piezas de las gradas para flores antes del primer uso, como

se describe en el capítulo “Limpieza”.

− Utilice siempre el equipo de protección adecuado durante el montaje (p. ej., botas de jardinería con puntera de acero, guantes de jardinería o trabajo, gafas protectoras, etc.).

− Mantenga a niños y mascotas alejados de la zona de trabajo y de los componentes de las gradas para flores. Las gradas para flores contienen pequeñas piezas que pueden causar asfixia.

− No deje que los niños jueguen con los componentes de las gradas para flores. Estos componentes no son un juguete para niños.

− Encuentre una zona plana y nivelada cerca de donde quiere colocar las gradas para flores. Asegúrese de tener a mano los componentes de las gradas para flores.

Antes de apretar los tornillos, monte primero todas las piezas de forma que pueda ajustar sus posiciones en caso necesario.

Montaje de las estructuras1. Distribuya una estructura de gancho 1 , la abrazadera en cruz 6 , una

estructura larga en L 4 , y un tornillo M6 × 30 mm 9 . 2. Asegure un poco la abrazadera en cruz a la parte trasera de la estructura

de gancho, y la estructura larga en L a la parte delantera de la estructura de gancho, insertando y apretando manualmente un tornillo M6 × 30 mm (véase la fig. B). Repita el proceso para la otra estructura de gancho y la otra estructura larga en L.

3. Tome una estructura corta en L 2 y hágala coincidir con el frontal de una estructura de gancho.

4. Asegúrese de que los orificios en la estructura corta en L miran arriba. 5. Asegure un poco la estructura corta en L a la estructura de gancho,

insertando y apretando manualmente un tornillo M6 × 25 mm 8 (véase la fig. C). Repita el proceso para la otra estructura corta en L. A continuación, monte los estantes (consulte el capítulo “Montaje de los estantes”).

Montaje de los estantes 1. Distribuya un estante 3 y una hilera ornamental 5 . 2. Alinee los orificios de los tornillos. 3. Apriete un poco la hilera ornamental al estante con tres tornillos

M6 × 12 mm 7 (véase la fig. D).4. Compruebe la posición de la hilera ornamental en el estante. Si la posición

es satisfactoria, apriete los tornillos M6 × 12 mm con la llave fija 12 o la de estrella 13 . El estante ya está montado (véase la fig. E). Repita el proceso para las demás hileras ornamentales y estantes. Ahora combine las estructuras y estantes (consulte el capítulo “Combinación de las estructuras y estantes”).

Combinación de las estructuras y estantes1. Asegúrese de que un estante 3 esté boca abajo.2. Dele la vuelta a las estructuras montadas y coloque la parte superior de las

estructuras de gancho 1 sobre el estante. Asegúrese de que los orificios en las estructuras de ganchos estén alineados con los orificios sobre el estante.

3. Fije un poco el estante a las estructuras de gancho, insertando y apretando manualmente cuatro tornillos M6 × 25 mm 8 (véase la fig. F). Repita el proceso para el resto de estantes.

4. Con cuidado, ponga derechas las gradas para flores apretadas un poco. 5. Compruebe que la posición de todos los componentes sea satisfactoria.6. Apriete todos los tornillos con la llave fija 12 o la de estrella 13 .7. Mueva con cuidado las gradas para flores donde quiera. 8. Vuelva a comprobar que los tornillos M6 × 12 mm 7 , los M6 × 25 mm, y los

M6 × 30 mm 9 sigan apretados de forma segura. Las gradas para flores ya están listas para usar (véase la fig. G).

Limpieza

Combinación de conjuntos de gradas para floresPuede combinar varios conjuntos de gradas para flores para formar una serie de gradas para flores.

1. Coloque los conjuntos de gradas para flores juntos entre sí. 2. Localice los tapones de plástico 14 en las estructuras de gancho 1 y las

estructuras cortas en L 2 que están juntas entre sí en cada conjunto de gradas para flores (véase la fig. H).

3. Retire los tapones de plástico. Quizá necesite emplear un destornillador para tornillos de cabeza plana (no incluido).

4. Alinee los orificios en ambos conjuntos de gradas para flores. 5. Inserte manualmente los tornillos M6 × 38 mm 10 en los orificios alineados.6. Asegure los tornillos M6 × 38 mm con las tuercas M6 11 (véase la fig. I).

Tenga presente que habrá dos tornillos M6 × 38 mm y dos tuercas M6 si quiere dos conjuntos de gradas para flores.

7. Compruebe que la posición de las gradas para flores sea satisfactoria.8. Apriete los tornillos M6 × 38 mm y las tuercas M6 con la llave fija 12 o la de

estrella 13 .
