Health Check up Camp at Sundarban on December 1, 2019 organized by Kolkata Menopause

Society, The Bengal Obstetric &Gynaecological Society & Jain Conference jointly organized a rural

health check-up camp and community service programme at Suderbans on December 1, 2019 at

Dakshin Biraj Nagar. The Programme started by distribution of blankets to the village mature

women. 200 blankets were distributed. 200 school bags, water bottles, pencil Boxes, pencils &

rubbers were distributed to School children from Class 1 to IV.After that, a health checkup camp

was organized. Total 101 patients were examined.Free Blood Sugar, HB was tested. BMD was also

done.1 patients had Hb less than 5 gms. Mild anemia was seen in 7 patients. More than 40% had

osteopenia. 17 diabetic patients were diagnosed. 3 patients had sugar >400.Dr Kalidas Bakshi, Dr

Nirmala Pipara, Dr Nupur Chakraborty, Dr Abha Saraf, Dr Sabina, Dr Geetika had given their

valuable advice in the camp.Free Calcium, Iron and all other medicines were distributed

free.Excellent arrangements were made by Mr Jana, local organizer.The Programme was a grand

success.

29th November 2019 Rural Health Camp

Kolkata Menopause Society and The Bengal Obstetric & Gynaecological Society organized a rural

health check-up camp on September 29, 2019 at Agrasen Dham, Bagnan. 65 perimenopausal &

postmenopausal women were examined.Free Hb, Blood Sugar & BMD checkup was done to

all.Iron, Calcium and all medicines was distributed at free of cost as required by the patients. Dr

Kalidas Bakshi, Dr Nirmala Pipara, Dr Bipasa Sen, Dr Nupur Chakraborty, Dr Bulbul Raichaudhuri and

Dr Saktirupa Chakraborty attended the camp. It was a grand success.

14th and 15th December 2019 Second Annual State Conference of Raipur Menopause society

Second annual state conference of Raipur menopause society, quiz competition was held.Total

number of participants was 25.quiz competition consisted of theory round. From the results of theory

round 4 candidates were selected for the final quiz.final quiz had oral round, audio-visual round,

fastest finger first round and rapid fire round.after all the rounds.

2nd Annual State Conference MENOPAUSECON-2019 held on 14th-15th December 2019 at Hotel

Babylon International, Raipur, CG. Conference was blessed and guided by Founder president and

patron of Raipur Menopause Society, Dean of Pt. JNM Medical College, Raipur, Dr. Mrs. Abha Singh

madam. Conference was headed by Dr Manoj Chellani president Raipur Menopause society,

organizing chairperson of the conference, Dr Tripti Nagaria (Past President Raipur Menopause

Society, Co-Chairperson of the conference & HOD, Dept Of OBS & GYN Pt.JNM Medical College,

Raipur) & Dr Jyoti Jaiswal (Past president Raipur Menopause Society and Scientific chairperson of

the conference).Dr Sushma Verma (Secretary, Raipur Menopause Society) had executed the work

as organizing secretary of conference. Dr. Gurpreet Soni (Joint Treasurer, RMS) had executed the

post of treasurer of the conference.

The conference was a 2 day conference, preceded by a preconference Live Colposcopy

workshop in association with Pt. JNM Medical College Raipur on 14th December 2019 from 9 am - 1

pm. Venue of the workshop was Telemedicine Hall and PPOT of Dept. Of Obs. and Gynec, Pt.JNM

Medical College Raipur. Purpose of the Workshop was to train the doctors for early detection and

timely management of pre-cancerous and cancerous lesion.

Inauguration of the workshop was done by lamp lightening. Welcome speech was given by Dr.

Tripti Nagaria. Dr. Sarita Shyamsunder (Organising chairperson IFCPC 2020, World congress of

colposcopy & cervical pathology) from Delhi, Dr. Madhuri Gawande from Nagpur (M.H) and Dr.

Meena Nayak from Bhili (C.G) were the speakers for the session.

There were 3 lectures on Basics of colposcopy, IFCPC Nomenclature, Scoring of lesion and

management of CIN followed by live demonstration of colposcopy over 40 Patients.

There were 100 delegates and 20 faculties who attended the workshop.

Formal Inauguration of the conference was done on 14th December 2019 at hotel Babylon Inn at

1:00pm by doing lamp lightening and saraswati vandana.

Occasion was blessed by Dr. Mrs.Abha Singh madam (Founder president and patron RMS, Dean

Pt.JNM Medical College Raipur) as our Chief Guest and Dr. Neelam Agarwal from Chandigarh,

current president of IMS India as our guest of honor for the conference.

Dr. Manoj Chellani (president Raipur Menopause society, organizing chairperson of the

conference) greeted our guest with his welcome speech.

New team for Raipur Menopause Society for year 2020-2022 was announced followed by change

of guard ceremony. Oration of RMS was delivered by Dr.Mrs Abha singh on “Some unanswered

questions on MHT”. Key note address on MHT in Breast cancer was given by Dr. Neelam Agarwal.

Details for the scientific program are attached below.

1st day of the conference was dedicated to BONE HEALTH AND JOINT CARE AT PERI & POST

MENOPAUSE, in which osteoporosis and osteoarthritis and their management were discussed. There

was a panel discussion on building strong bones moderated by Dr.Pushpa Sethi.

Our guest faculty for the bone health session was Dr. Rajendra Nagarkatti from Mumbai and Dr.Alok

Chandra Agrawal and Dr.Ankur Singhal & Dr. Shailendra Upadhyay from Raipur (C.G)

In evening there was cultural program and Beauty contest “BEAUTICON”. Different performances

were performed by the gynecologist only. The main attraction of the evening was beauty contest

in which gynecologist of different age groups had participated. In the contest there was walk for

the cause and not only the outer beauty but the inner beauty of the soul was highlighted and

judged.

Cultural program was followed by the Gala Dinner.

In the 2nd day early morning at 7:00 am on 15th December Raipur Menopause Society had

organized a road show for public awareness. Yoga and Zumba for peri and post menopausal age

group was demonstrated. Doctors talked about the life style modification and dietary changes

which is required during menopause with the general public. It was an interactive session.

From 9:00 am in the morning in the venue there was Paper and Poster presentations followed by

theory round for the Quiz competition.

2nd day of conference was focused on REDEFINING THE BEAUTY AT THIS WONDERFUL AGE AND TO

LEARN, HOW TO LIVE GRACEFULLY WITH KEEPING INTEGRITY BETWEEN BODY,MIND AND SOUL.

In Post lunch session SEXUAL PROBLEMS IN PERI AND POSTMENOPAUSAL WOMEN were discussed.

Dr.Sanjay Deshpandey & Dr. G. Venkatraman were the speaker. There was panel discussion on

sexual dysfunction at menopause, moderated by Dr.G Venkatraman.Then there was Quiz

Competition which was followed by valedictory function and prize distribution. At the end vote of

thanks was given by Dr. Sushma Verma (Secretary Raipur Menopause Society).

MENOPAUSECON 2019 was a successful conference; it was a great combination of academic

feast with cultural blast for whole of Chhattisgarh. Conference was completely based on recent

issues including the burning topic of present scenario addressed by reputed National faculties.

It was attended by 20 National Faculties, 40 Faculties from Chhattisgarh & nearly 200 delegates.

Menopause Society Nagpur has conducted a CME on 28th December 2019 at tuli imperial in

association with AMWN, ISOPARB, NARCHI and IMA women's wing.Dr Seema Dhande spoke on

vulvovaginitis and Dr Neelam puniyani spoke on Premenopausal bleeding .CME was followed by

New Year celebration.

11th December 2019 Awareness Program & Cancer Detection Camp

Lions club of Vani & Lion’s Charitable trust and NARCHI, Nagpur Chapter in association with

Menopause Society Nagpur, Matru Seva sangh Buldi, Rotary Club of Ishanya Nagpur , Association

of Surgeon Nagpur, ISOPARB - Vidarbha Chapter, IFS- Vidarbha Chapter conducted a screening

camp for 350 Ladies aged between 15 to 70 on 8th Dec. 2019 at Vani, District Chandrapur. Hb%,

random blood sugar, Height weight, BP, BMD, Breast Scanning and examination, general, per

abdomen, vaignal, speculum examination was done. 80 Pap Smear and 25 colposcopies done.

All test were done free of cost. Multi Vitamin, Calcium, Iron given to all free of cost. Rest of the

medicine distributed as required

Counseling for peri & post-menopausal patient regarding menopause awareness was done.

Documentary on Breast cancer “Jhijhak Kaisi’ shown.

A webinar was conducted on the topic ' Recent updates and trends in management of pcos'

.Speaker was Dr Vidya Sutaone . About 49 doctors participated in the web CME. The discussion

included a few basics on pcos, as well as recent trends. pcos in midlife was discussed and role of

myo-inositol in midlife was also discussed. It was held on.

We arranged a free BMD camp for patients on 14th December 2019 at Sandhya hospital, Unapani

road Surat. Around 125patients were examined for forearm bmd tests 120 patients were above

the age of 30 treasury and more. Out of which 71 were osteopenics, 6 were osteoporotic and rest

were normal all were advised accordingly about further investigations and treatment also

General Body Meeting of Bhagalpur Menopause Society was conducted on Saturday the 14th

December, 2019 at Roop Vihar Resorts. Total of 39 members were present .Meeting was followed

by Dinner.Following decisions were taken

1) Dr Anil Kumar installed as next President after the vacancy due the sad demise of Late Prof. Dr

RN Jha.

2) Dr Archana Jha installed as Secretary

3) Dr Pratibha Singh installed as Vice president .

3) Dr Nirmaja Jha installed as Clinical Secretary.

4) Three new members joined the society increasing the total strength to 75

A composite health checkup camp was organised for midlife women on 15th of December at lala

tola, village gahira, Gorakhpur. Eight consultants of obgyn, one physician, one orthopaedic

surgeon, one ophthalmologist, one gen surgeon attended the health camp and gave their advice.

hb, bmd was done for all. Pulmonary function test were done for those who required. Medicines

distributed free of cost.around 200 patients visited the camp.

Varisht Mahila Swasthya Yojna camp was organised in the OPD of OBGY Dept. GMC Patiala by

Patiala Menopause Society on 05/12/19. About 40 perimenopausal /menopausal women were

examined. Along with history, GPE, HT, Wt, BMI was done. Women were provided with specialist

services by psychiatry and medical specialists. PAP smear and BMD was done. Women were given

iron, calcium, and pain killers.

Under Varisht Mahila Swasth Karykram prof & HOD Deptt Obs & Gynae MMIMSR organized monthly

Varisht Mahilla Swasth Shivir, under the patronage of honourable Chairman Sh. Tarsem garg

respected principal, vice principal sir, M.S sir, CEO sir & under aegis of Indian Menopausal Society,

for women 40 years and above on 17/12/2019. Gynae checkup, Pap Smear screening, BMI, Breast

examination, Hb, RBS was done. A total of 40 women were examined. 8 patients were Obese or

over weight,1 patient had fibroid uterus (Lower uterine segment), 2 patiemts had utero - vaginal

prolapse, 5 patients had abnormal uterine bleed, 3 patient had vaginitis, 1 patient had

postmenopausal bleeding with a fungating mass in per speculum findings, 1 patient were PCOS.

Talk on: - a) Gynecological disorder at Menopause: Dr. Ruby Bhatia Prof & HOD OBG.

b) Diet at Menopause: Dr. Surbhi.

c) Breast self-examination video presentation: Dr. Sunita Mor
