Alpine transit. Stay on track!
Rotterdam
Basel
Genoa
Antwerp
The Gotthard base tunnel, the world‘s longest railway tunnel will enter into operation on
2 June 2016.
But it is only with the cooperation of European countries along the Corridor Rhine-Alpine
that freight transport by rail will deliver the performance that Europe so desperately needs.
A great deal of work has already been done. Now it’s a case of staying on track, creating the
necessary capacity and working together for the future of rail freight.
At the International Corridor Rhine-Alpine Conference 2014 in Genoa representatives from
the fields of business and politics will discuss the outlook and challenges for European rail
freight transport between north and south. The Federal Office of Transport FOT and the
European Economic Interest Group Corridor Rhine-Alpine (EEIG) are pleased to invite you to
take part.
