  • Dear Colleagues

World Health Organisation Traditional Medicine Strategy 2014-23 states that universal health coverage (UHC) is only possible by integrating Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) services that includes Homeopathy into the health care delivery system. The purpose is to ensure that every individual has access to promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative health services of effective quality at an affordable cost to achieve the “highest attainable standards of health” outlined in WHO's Constitution and in the concept of Health for All.

Presently, Homoeopathy is practiced in more than 80 countries in different forms, officially recognized and system of medical specialty in Central and South America (Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico), Asia (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh etc.) and Europe (Germany, France, Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungry, Romania, Russia, United Kingdom etc.). Homoeopathy in India is recognized and integrated in the National health care delivery system. Government of India has established Ministry to AYUSH to give focused attention for the growth and development of CAM/TM. Thus India has a pluralistic health care to meet the ever-growing demand in health sector.

A highly commendable infrastructure of about 195 teaching institutions affiliated to various universities, a regulatory council for maintenance of standards of education and clinical practice; autonomous research council with 28 institutes; more than 250 thousand registered practitioners; about 7500 Primary Health Centers, drug safety regulations, pharmacopoeia laboratory and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliant drug manufacturing industry are the major strength areas. This model of integration is unique and ideal for replication by other countries for providing holistic and affordable health care along with respective traditional medicines in accordance with WHO Strategy of Traditional medicine.

Homoeopathic fraternity worldwide celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, a German Physician, who discovered the principles of Homeopathy two centuries ago and developed it as a gentle healing system of medicine, as the World Homoeopathic Day. On this day, the fraternity organizes various symposia, road shows, medical camps, conferences and memorial events to popularize the strength of Homoeopathy. In 2016, LMHI, the international professional body of Homeopaths, designated India to organize the World Homeopathy Day.

The objectives of this convention is to deliberate on the existing scenario of Homeopathy in India and other countries, develop strategies for formulating national policies; strengthening the existing base of safety, quality and effectiveness, high quality medical education, Interdisciplinary and international research co-operations, evidence based clinical practice and to promote appropriate integration of Homoeopathy into health care delivery system in different countries to achieve UHC.

We have immense pleasure to extend cordial invitation to the homoeopathic fraternity worldwide to participate with great enthusiasm. Various international and national experts along with acclaimed supporters of Homoeopathy will be sharing their views on these subjects. The program will be webcasted for wider dissemination.
