The Industrial Revolution

• Large factory units replace small family workshops.

• Urbanisation and the development of slums.

• Men as unskilled workers in new trades.

• Women and children in textile mills and factories.

• Disease, accidents, poor conditions, lack of education and loss of self-respect.
