Neuronsarethemostspecialisedcellsinthebody.Theircapacityforreproduc+onisverylimited.Theyaremadeupofacellbody,whichissimilartoallothercells,andhastwokindsoflongextensions:dendritesandaxonsorneurites.
Cellbody:thiscontainsthenucleusandotherorganelles,andisfilledwithcytoplasm.
Axon:thisisalongextensionthatismadeupofcytoplasmandcarriesnerveimpulsesfromthecellbodytoanotherneuronorcell.
Dendrites:theseareshort,branchedextensionsofthecellbodythatreceivenerveimpulsesfromotherneurons.
