    SOUND AND LIGHTSYSTEM

    Interaction Design

  • 8/8/2019 Interaction Design Light and Sound

    2/21

    Statement of focus

    To design an interface

for sound and light system to enhanceand simplifyits usage

  • 8/8/2019 Interaction Design Light and Sound

    3/21

    Statement of user

To design an Interface such that

    Its easy to handle.

Its front end should be user friendly and self explanatory.

    Its calibration is persistent.

It has some troubleshooting mechanisms for

    regular problems.

Go where the user works (Contextual enquiry)

    The SOUND & CONTROL Room

    Very small and cluttered

    Confusion because of similar devices

Lack of Aesthetics in the shape and colour of the

devices almost all black, silver, white and square

    COLLEGE CASE (board room)

Wrong placement of the room.No view of board room from the control room.

    1. Controller

    configures the

    device according

    to the room

    3. Pre checks of all

    the devices,

    terminals and the

    system by the

    technicians

    4. Performs run

    the devices

    before useMonitors light,

    mike , camera

    according to the

    different users

    Helps the

    user

    Adjusts light, mike,

    camera according to

    the different users

    Ensures proper

    working of

    pointers and

    Affinity Statements

Unaware users (Users dont use the mics properly)

    Lot of dependency on technician

    Mike & Speaker frequency collide

    Light & Mike frequency collide

    Real time file transfer difficult

    Low Battery of mic issue

    Signal range problem

    Training required

Different room different configuration of the device

    Solutions in the current interface

Contact List of the technicians, fellow controllers and

    coordinators in the device itself.

Chat facility in the device so as to coordinate with

the controller at the other end.

Incorporating the file transfers in the device itself.

Help facility for some regular problems.

Individual mic status and control for the same.

    Different Room One universal device.
