Intent to Impact: Addressing Access, Equity, and Advocacy in Your Affi liateNCTM Af� liates across the country are faced with challenging issues related to mathematics education. Come together with other Af� liate leaders to consider the most urgent work in your setting through the lenses of Access, Equity, and Advocacy. Learn about tools and frameworks to support your work and walk away with an action plan to address your Af� liate-speci� c issues. This summer’s conference will explore a learning model to help you enact your action plan during the 2017–18 school year.

In addition, as a conference participant, you will have opportunities to—

• develop strategies to empower your Af� liate and individuals within your Af� liate to take action for a high-quality mathematics education for each and every learner;

• increase your self-awareness of micromessaging and its impact on your work;

• learn how to minimize micro-inequities and maximize micro-af� rmations;

• create an action plan to address an Af� liate-speci� c issue;

• mobilize the work of your Af� liate through your spheres of in� uence;

• challenge leaders to be deliberate about Equity, Access, and Advocacy in your Af� liate’s structures, practices, and activities;

• explore NCTM resources, including the Advocacy Toolkit;

• learn about the NCTM structure, resources, and initiatives, and participate in discussions with NCTM President Matt Larson, NCTM Staff, and Representatives of the Af� liate Relations Committee; and

• discuss, collaborate, and network with other Af� liate leaders.

AT-A-GLANCE PLANNING SCHEDULE• Day 1: Evening working reception and opening activities begin at 7:00 p.m.

• Day 2: Full-day program, with lunch provided.

• Day 3: Half-day program, with breakfast provided. Conference ends at noon.
