Your child can learn to play one of the many musical instruments available at
Encounter Lutheran College. Trumpet, flute, violin, guitar, recorder, voice, drums, piano and
keyboard lessons are offered during college hours by the following trained
teachers with broad experience.
Amy Beaumont: Piano (R-12)
Amy has been teaching the piano for the last 7 years and in 2013 received a Diploma of
Teaching from ANZCA. As a fully qualified piano teacher, Amy teaches the fundamentals of
music including theory, scales and technique, with the option to sit practical or theory
exams. Amy believes that Music is an important form of expression for our young people
and in a safe and understanding environment, students will connect to music in their own

Natalie Bond: Brass (2-12)
Natalie loves all things Arts. As the Performing Arts Teacher at Port Elliot Primary School,
Natalie enjoys engaging students within Music, Dance, Drama and Media Arts. She has
been teaching the Arts within various schools for over 15 years. Natalie is the South
Australian rep for Wakakirri, a National Story dance festival. She is also a troupe coordinator
within the prestigious Festival of Music. Natalie loves theatre and enjoys performing with the
South Coast Coral and Arts Society. Natalie is an accomplished musician and performer,
having over 30years experience. Trombone is her principal instrument, however, trumpet,
saxophone, piano and voice are some personal favourites. Natalie is looking forward to
engaging students within music and celebrating all the wonderful aspects of the Arts. Bachelor of Education

Deana Constable: Clarinet (R-9)
Deana has been teaching music for 5 years and has taken students through
Competition and Exams. Her background in music began at the age of 7 when she
commenced recorder and theory lessons, progressing to Bass Recorder and Clarinet.
Deana played Clarinet through to Matriculation Exam level and continued to play lead
Clarinet for the City of Henley and Grange Concert Band and the Naracoorte City Band for
many years after. A current Alumni Member of the Australian Girls’ Choir, Deana has also

Don Crook: Drums/Percussion (R-12)
Don is an accomplished musician and experienced teacher with over 40 years in the music
industry. He studied under Mr Richard Smith, the Timpanist in the Adelaide Symphony
Orchestra. Don is passionate about young musicians reaching their potential in the area of
drums and percussion. Over the years, Don has had much success in taking students from
beginner to advanced levels and preparing them for tertiary studies . Don has also done a

Matt Jorgensen: Guitar, Bass Guitar & Keyboard (4-12)
Matt is an experienced musician with a Diploma of Music from Noarlunga Tafe and is
A.M.E.B qualified in Guitar, Bass Guitar and Voice. Matt has toured and played with several
well known Australian Bands and currently provides worship music at Southern Gateway
Community Church. Tutoring in 5 instruments, Matt will be offering SACE support for
Encounter Senior Students in Guitar (all genres), Bass Guitar (all genres) and Keyboard
(contemporary), covering all aspects of Performance, advanced theory to University level,

Linda Sideris: Violin (R-8)
Linda’s love of music is obvious. An accomplished performer and teacher, she teaches
individuals and small groups on violin. Teaching the world famous ‘Suzuki’ method, she gets
the very best from her students who will be performing in no time in front of small groups with

Jack Stevenson: Guitar (R-10)
Jack is a talented young local musician who is dedicated to his instrument and inspiring
others. With 8 years experience teaching guitar, Jack has developed an engaging teaching
style and enjoys teaching students of all ages to develop their guitar technique. Sharing his
love of modern and classical music, he has quick rapport with young students who can’t

Jacqui Maynard: Voice (Senior School)
Jacqui has been involved in Music performance for many years including performing on
stage and in the pit for a large number of musicals in NSW and SA. (This includes being
Musical Director for the SCCAS 2016 production of 'Pippin'.) Chorally, she has performed,
toured and recorded with groups including Adelaide Connection Jazz Ensemble and
University of Southern California Choir, and in 2016 was a member of La La Land vocal
ensemble who performed with State Theatre. As a singing teacher, Jacqui has taught at
International School of Music, Australian College of Entertainment, Mighty Good Talent
School, Loreto College for Girls, Nazareth Catholic College, Adelaide Girls' Choir, Eastern
Fleurieu School R-6 Campus (where she directed the Festival of Music choir), and Eastern
Fleurieu School 7-12 Campus (where she directs, accompanies and arranges music for the
school choir). Jacqui has a deep passion for singing and for seeing young people 'shine',
