Pianissimo I y II para piano solo
Juan Ortiz de Zarate
2009-2010
Instructions1
All gestures in sixty-fourth notes must be played without a metronomic pulse. They
must be played very fast (and although quite freely), trying that the individual pitches
melt down into a texture. The rest of the durations are to be played after the indicated
metronome.
The rhomboidal head-notes must be played in the threshold of the audibility, less than
pppp, in the limit of pulling down the keys and not to do it. The musical idea is that
“music becomes choreography” The piece as a whole must be perceived as a continuous
motion (like a toccata), going to and fro from sounds to chorographical movements
without almost any acoustical consequences.
1- Play poco a poco crescendo until almost an ordinario playing and back to
chorographical playing. In the middle of the gesture (aprox. 2,5”) the dynamic
should be not more than pp.
