INSTALLATION
Client Information: The information in this installation instruction is intended for use only by skilled technicians who have the proper tools, equipment, and training to correctly and safely add equipment to your vehicle. These procedures should not be attempted by “do-it-yourselfers.”
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.2. Release and pull up on the rear seat cushion.
NOTE: Place a piece of masking tape as shown to prevent the hook from re-engaging.

13. Gently pull the inner handle on the left rear side trim panel, and use a small flat-tip screwdriver wrapped with a shop towel to remove the inner handle cap.

18. Using a rubber mallet wrapped with a shop towel, lightly tap the area marked SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG on the left quarter pillar trim to push in the clip. NOTE: Make sure to strike the area perpendicular to the vehicle.

31. Using scissors, cut two pieces of the aluminum tape in half. Secure the trailer harness and socket harness to the vehicle panel with four of the cut pieces of aluminum tape.

32. Route the socket harness along the trailer hitch as shown.

51. Line up the tab on the switch bracket with the hole on the switch, and secure the switch bracket to the switch with one narrow wire tie. NOTE: Firmly press the switch bracket against the left quarter pillar trim, and make sure there is no clearance between the switch and left quarter pillar trim.

52. Remove the vehicle clip, and install the clip A to the left quarter pillar trim.

54. Check the overlap between the headliner and the left quarter pillar trim. NOTE: Check and adjust the overlap as described in the service information.

56. Route the socket harness as shown, and secure it to the vehicle panel with one wire tie with clip.

60. Secure the socket harness 4-pin connector to the socket bracket with the two 6 x 40 mm flange bolts and the two 6 mm flange nuts.

64. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly and all connectors are plugged in.
65. Connect the negative cable to the battery.66. Press and hold the audio unit power button for 2
seconds to restore the audio and navi (if equipped) system functions.
67. Set the clock on vehicles without navigation.68. If necessary, restore the systems back to normal
operation as described in the service information.69. Spare Tire Installation:
• Before raising the spare tire back into the vehicle, make sure the spare tire hoist bar is centered in the hub opening of the wheel.
• Raise the spare tire. If the hoist bar is correctly positioned, the spare tire will be close to level as it is raised. If the hoist bar is not correctly positioned, the spare tire will not be level as it is raised and will not seat flush under the vehicle.
• Using the appropriate tools in the vehicle, tighten the spare tire hoist until it clicks. Failure to do this can result in noise and/or damage to the hoist cable.

72. Remove the adhesive backing from the label A. Attach the label A to the tailgate as shown.NOTE: Make sure the client is aware the label A can be removed after reading.

73. Refer to the TRAILER HARNESS TESTER, and perform the “Trailer Harness Circuit Check”.
Check the Operation of the Hands-Free Access Power Tailgate
74. Make sure the hands-free access power tailgate works properly as described in the Accessory User’s Information Manual supplied with this kit.
