Visitors enjoyed coffee, tea, and dainties all prepared by the Ste. Anne Lions Club. Like every year, the music was phenomenal. Lions Host an Evening of Fun This year’s entertainment was Trev Schellenberg and friends. There was a silent auction and a 50/50 draw where one lucky guest took home $260. All procceds raised during the night went to the local food bank, the Accueil Kateri Center in Ste. Anne. They currently help 28 local familys with extra food every two weeks. On January 12 officers from the Steinbach RCMP's General Investi-gation Section arrested a prolific offender following an investigation thatwas initiated in December 2015 when the RCMP became aware of thesuspect's fraudulent activities. Jesse Daniel Cole, 32, of no fixed address, has been charged with 21counts of breaching his probation, 7 counts of fraud under $5,000, onecount of fraud over $5,000 and one count of unauthorized possessionof credit card data. Cole remains in custody. It is believed that Cole has been using dating and social media websites to meet and defraud women using aliases, including "Jesse Sinclair."Cole is also wanted for similar offences in Alberta, Quebec and Ontario."We're releasing this information and his picture to encourage anyonewho may have been defrauded by this individual to contact their localpolicing agency." said Sgt Bert Paquet of the Manitoba RCMP. "We wantto ensure that this individual is charged for all of the crimes he hascommitted, not only the ones reported so far."
