MICT sector.

4 Information on Monitoring and Evaluation

Introduction:

♦ The MICT SETA is established in terms of the Skills Development Act No. 97 of 1998. One the critical area within the Act is provision of quality education and training that addresses critical and scarce skills in the workplace. This can only be realized through focused monitoring, evaluation and auditing of learning outcomes against set criteria.

♦ The National Skills Development Strategy (NSDS) III advocates the establishment of a comprehensive performance monitoring, evaluation and support system for the realisation of learning programmes delivery that is economic, efficient and effective. Each SETA is expected to put in place measures to evaluate quality, relevance and the impact of skills development interventions.

♦ The QCTO strongly advocates effective monitoring and evaluation of delivery outcomes, calling for the SETAs efforts to be directed where it matters most: provision of quality occupational competence.
