Choice Section: Programmed Decisions
Decisions made using a rule, procedure, or quantitative method.
Also known as a computerized generated decision.
Decisions are made based on structured problems (frequently predicted problems)
For example, media player installed in a car. They automatically plays music without pushing any button.
LOGO
Choice Section: Unprogrammed Decisions
Non-computerized decision taking process.
Could be said occurs in daily life as well.
It is a difficult-to-quantify decisions. They do not depend on standard rules
and procedures. For example, ask yourself what do
you want to eat, and drink, and where would you go to and when?

Satisficing Model
Heuristic Model
LOGO
Computerized DSS: Optimization Model
Find the best solution through problem constraints method.
An optimum solution that meets organizational goals.
For example, between 3 choices, the 1st choice is the best solution for effective, and cheapest method execution, while as the 2nd and 3rd choice do not provide such equal as the 1st choice.
LOGO
Computerized DSS: Satisficing Model
Not optimum, rather a satisfying solution.
Could be said, as the 2nd or 3rd best achievable solution.
Also good give good results. For example, if you can’t get a gold
medal in a sport, get at least a silver or bronze medal.
LOGO
Common DSS: Heuristic Model
Commonly accepted guidelines or procedures.
Also known as the “Rules of Thumb”.You can’t gain maximum effect nor
achieved failure with this model. For example, you don’t achieve your
this month’s target on sales, but your sales on the current month is not the lowest on the record.
