International Forum in Batumi has become traditional event organized by EYP
Georgia as far as its already the fourth time It is going to take place. July 18-23
are the days when more than one hundred European youngsters will gather in
Batumi and discuss the most actual and important issues faced by Europe.
EcoTechnoLogical Europe is the theme the session is dedicated to. Ecological
problems and technological progress today is often perceived as contrary
concepts. But we deeply believe these two are closely interconnected and
dependent variables. Main purpose of choosing this theme for the 4th Batumi
International Forum is to give one more chance to young Europeans to put their
efforts in finding logical edging between guaranteeing Technological Progresswithout hindering Ecology.
Batumi International Forum will follow traditional methodology of European
Youth Parliament and also will suggest diverse range of activities making
representatives of the different countries deeply aware of each others cultures
and thus making these five days unforgettable for each and every participant of
the Forum.
Considering the diligent work of the whole organizing team during several
months its our utmosthonour to announce the call of participants open.
Participant centred event, refined in organization as well as content these arethe peaks accomplishing of which we promise to put all out efforts in.

It has already become a successfully tradition of EYP Georgia to host an
international Forum on the black sea cost in a beautiful city of Batumi. It all
started in the summer 2009 and is held annually since then.
The first international EYP event in Georgia was planned to take place in Gori in
August 2008, however it was cancelled due to war. A year later EYP Georgia
organized its first international forum in Batumi. The event gathered more than
100 youngsters from different European countries under the motto changing
the sense of possible. Hosting the first international event, EYP Georgia faced
many problems, however the event turned out to be a great success.
Following the development of EYP Georgia, Batumi 1stInternational Forum was
followed by more advanced forums in 2010 and in 2011.
BIF has already become a brand event of EYP Georgia. Interest has increased
significantly from potential participants, as well as sponsors from
governmental, non-governmental and private organizations.
Batumi International Forum follows the traditional EYP methodology and is
divided into 3 main parts: Teambuilding, Committee Work and General
Assembly. However the forum doesnt lack evening activities such as
eurovillage, euroconcert, committee dinner and theme parties. Being held in
summer on the seaside, theres unique opportunity to live in the hotel on the
coastline with EYPers and attend unforgettable forum in yet undiscovered place
for many Europeans.
Following three successful Fora in previous years, BIF12 is promising to exceed
the expectations and reach new levels of excitement and experience.

What is European Youth Parliament (EYP)?European Youth Parliament is one of the most popular and successful youth-
organization in todays Europe. EYP consists of a network of 35 Europeanassociations and organizations in which thousands of youngsters are actively
involved and take part in the development of the civil society. EYP encourages
young people to think, act and solve some actual problems independently. EYP
gives youngsters the chance to gain a big knowledge and experience, makes
them more independent and self-confident. This is a right place where you get
used to work in a group, gain some lieder skills and practice how to make a
speech in front of the audience. Not only, will you reach the professional
success, but although you can meet amazing people and make new friends.
Without exaggeration, EYP made a vital contribution towards uniting Europe,
this statement is strengthened with the fact that tens or thousands of youngpeople have already taken part in regional, national or international sessions,
formed friendships and made international contracts across and beyond
borders.
The aim of EYP is to raise awareness of European issues and encourage active
European citizenship, motivate university and school students to get engaged in
European politics. What is more, the most important goals are to promote
international understanding, intercultural dialogue and diversity of ideas and
practices. Apart from this, EYP is the organization which provides the
international forums where youngsters from the different European countries
can express and debate their own opinions, without reverting to role play. Themost significant fact is that EYP is non-political organization, this is a non-
partisan education program where the key factor is the independent thinking.
EYP sessions are held in English and French, so this organization welcomes the
smart and educated youngsters with new, creative ideas and gives them a great
opportunity to express their talent.
EYP Georgia
EYP Georgia became official member of EYP network in 2008 and now
represents one of the most successful youth organizations in the country.
European youth Parliament Georgia consists of brunch of motivated and broad-minded people who have the ambition to change the world for the better, make
it more peaceful and stabile. EYP Georgia has its governing body - the board
elected by the National committee every year. The National committee
currently consists of 27 members, who are actively involved in every kind of
EYP event and have the privilege in the decision-making processes, so their
votes are really valuable. And the most important actors in EYP events are the
participants who are making the spirit and give the sessions a new energy.

Forum Methodology
The 4th International Forum in Batumi will follow the general methodology of EYP
sessions and will include three essential elements: Teambuilding, Committee Work and
General Assembly.
Teambuilding
The main aim of the teambuilding is to encourage the participants from all over the Europe to
gather in the committees and with the help of some indoor or outdoor activities build up trust
and friendship and create the basis for an open, productive and political discussions. Some of
the activities mentioned above may consist of physical challenges, whereas some include
creative or problem-solving tasks. All in all, every component of the teambuilding is designed
to get this group of people working as a close-knit team in a very comfortable atmosphere.
Committee Work
After preparing a proper atmosphere for team-work, here comes the main part of the session
Committee Work. During this particular part of the event delegates come together in theircommittees and start discussing specific topics previously prepared by their chairpersons
who also facilitate the general process of committee work. The main goal set by one particular
committee is to draft a resolution with all the points they agree upon. Here all the members of
the committee can have their voices heard as they express their ideas and try to reach the
consensus which is later on reflected in their own resolution.
General Assembly
One might be wondering what these resolutions are drafted for or whether they already have
kind of legislative power once theyre agreed within the committee or not. The final element of
the whole session, GA (General Assembly), aims to encourage all the participants to discuss
the resolutions of other committees, debate over them and exchange their positions around
every single issue mentioned in these documents. By voting process which is solely based onthe personal conscience of each delegate the final outcome of every resolution is declared.
Evening Activities
No one will dispute the fact that any event without some entertaining activities is supposed to
become boring and extremely exhausting. For this reason, in order to keep your spirits high and
overwhelmed, there are loads of evening activities planned during the forum. All these events
are aimed to encourage the participants to socialize and enjoy the forum, make friends and
make the best out of being the part of the whole event. Welcome party is the first socializing
event throughout the forum where you can enjoy your evening on the beach and get to know
more about other participants backgrounds at the same time. Youll probably be wondering
what is so peculiar for every country represented at the forum. Here we go! During Euro-
village you not only are able to taste the traditional snacks and drinks presented by each
delegation, but you also can enjoy their traditional folk dances and music which says much
about their culture. Next evening event which is also worth-mentioning is a committee dinner.
This particular evening aims to encourage all the members of the committee to get closer to
each other and together with tasting Georgian traditional dishes such as Khachapuri and
others motivate everyone to create close-knit team which works productively for the GA. Once
youve made friends from all over the Europe, youre done with all the committee wor k, debated
successfully during GA, you are supposed to be extremely depressed since the session is ending.
For this particular reason, you are invited to a farewell party where you can enjoy the last
night of the forum, set sights on applying for the next EYP events so that you can meet your new
friends again, stay up all night dancing, just go crazy and have the time of your life

Forum Theme
Eco-TechnoLogical Europe
And now, after being amazed by the wonderful place you are to visit, its time to
introduce the topic of the BIF12.
Europe is emerged by the ecological problems and is desperately seeking for
solutions. EU organizes events for fighting against environmental problems and
pushes the world to make some changes. Issues are dedicated to eco vs.
technological facts, they show frightening statistics, for example:
At least 50 million acres of rainforest are lost every year, totalling an
area the size of England, Wales and Scotland combined.
Average temperatures will increase by as much as 12 degrees
Fahrenheit by the end of the 21st century if greenhouse gas emissions
continue to rise at the current pace.
More than 90 million kg of contaminants are dumped into our waterresources every year.
Less than 2% of the Earth's water supply is fresh water.
Obviously technology is in opposition to nature. It is produced at the expense of
nature because it destroys ecological habitats. Its steel is mined from the earth;
its lumber is taken by cutting down forests; its rare metals dug from the
ground; its plastics sucked from oil and then burned into the air. Its factories
pave over wetlands or meadows. Worse this destruction of natural habitat can
extinguish species, an act which cannot be undone.
Not looking to those facts above, we still need the product of it. In XXI century
we are depended to technology. But depended to ecology as well, so the Logicalquestion arouses - what can we do? How to find the way not to abuse
technology and save ecology?

Some facts about Georgia
Georgia with its favourable geographic location has a unique and ancient cultural
heritage. From outrageously beautiful towns of Svaneti and Kazbegi in the Caucasus
mountains to Batumi, a fun-loving semitropical town on the Black Sea coastline, Georgia
abounds in natural variety. Tbilisi, the capital and by far the biggest city, has the
atmosphere of an age-old Eurasian crossroads, yet its also a 21st-century city with
European-style nightclubs and eye-catching new architecture. Georgias deeply
complicated history has given it a fascinating cocktail of influences from Turkey, Russia,
Persia, Central Asia and beyond, with a wonderful heritage of architecture and art. But
today Georgia looks to Europe for its future and is the most Western in atmosphere of
the three Caucasus countries.
Perhaps its greatest treasure is the Georgians themselves: warm, proud, high-spirited,
cultured, obsessively hospitable and expert at enjoying life. This is a country whereguests are considered a blessing. The abundant local wine flows freely, tables are laden
with fine food and youll never cease to be delighted by the warmth of your welcome.
According to the folk legend, when God share lands among people, where those were
supposed to live, Georgians were late because they had banquet. When they appeared in
front of Him they were told that no free lands were left. And Georgians replied that they
were late while they were drinking for His health and invited Him to banquet. Got spend
a great time and decided to give them land, which left for Himself. Indeed Georgia is a
divine country!

Dress code
What about ?
When you look in catalogues or watch TV or whatever, styles are changing but
EYP fashion will be in fashion for a long time. There is a dress code in the EYPwhich is a code of conduct we expect to adhere to. For us, its a little more
discipline and more presentable. I know that sometimes dress code might be
challenge for EYPers but we have to grapple with this challenge and I certainly
think you will do a pretty good job with it.
Teambuilding Dress code: while teambuilding forget about fashion and just
wear exactly what you will feel like wearing. Casual clothes and outdoor
clothes as well, comfortable and warm clothes and shoes and also it might be
useful rain jacket and extra pair of socks as well.
Committee work Dress Code: try to be as smart as its possible
Participants should bring official clothes for opening/closing ceremonies and
of course for the General Assembly. Dress code: Formal
(suit, shirt, tie, dress/skirt. No jeans or casual wear)
July in Batumi is sufficiently hot but its often raining so check the weather
conditions prior and be sure that you are ready for a rainy weather too. We
will try to keep the academic atmosphere during whole event.
So start cleaning out your closet to find all the necessary clothes get ready
and dress to go out and if you have not a thing to wear in this case
NOW!!!
Just trust us that wearing conformable clothes to the dress code is raises
encouraging your speech, respect for authority and general adherence torelations.
Remember every choice you make creates a new reality and
you have much better life if you wear impressive clothes
