STRUCTURE TYPES AND SIZES

Inflatable membranes work in a number of ways to create clear span structures. Presently the maximum has been 215m but by no means is this the limit. AIRFLOW (Air inflated structures)

These structures can be used to span up to 30meters without trussing,, using the inflate air beam system as used on the Trident. There is no limit to what the length can be constructed with integrated trussing. Airflow system are the most versa0le and cost effec0ve forms of Inflatable in terms of func0on and shape performance. They can be constructed from a large range of materials by s0tching,HF, welding, heat welding and glue. The structure is inflated and kept to pressure with a constant airflow from fans. The type of fans used will depend on the and environment the structure will be placed. This system of construc0on allows for the use of much lighter fabrics which will aid the opera0onal performance and efficiency of touring structures.

SEALED AIR PRESSURE REGULATED (Air INFLATED STRUCTURES)

These structures can be used to span up to 60m. This is a heat welded and s0tched solu0on which offers sealed chambers that can be filled with high pressure air giving enhanced structural performance at very large spans. The pressure is regulated and topped up at intervals by a system of fans. These can be computer controlled and give very accurate read-‐outs on the structural performance of the building. This is a high end solu0on suitable to more permanent installa0ons where a level of rigidity needs to be kept constant. There is no opportunity to use lightweight fabrics in this construc0on and as such the finished product is very heavy and can require large lining equipment and specially constructed shipping crates.

PRESSURIZED SINGLE SKIN (AIR SUPPORTED STRUCTURES)

These structures work best from 10 meters and beyond, they work be`er the bigger they get. This is a structure that is more akin to a balloon. It is inflated using a large volume blower and are entered through a revolving door, pressure lock chamber or simply a slit in the side. These systems are commonly used for covering tennis courts and other sports arenas as well as some art events. They are cost effec0ve to produce and have a very graphic appearance.

TEXTURE

There are huge possibili0es with the textures and surface finishes for the structures both inside and outside. These textures can be structural as well as decora0ve. Through Inflates use of the latest computer aided technology and years of physical experience in making structures they are able to ensure the highest perceived value of the end structure.

DOORS

Doors and entrances can be used to enhance the structure’s architectural merit as well as providing func0onal solu0ons for the buildings. Inflate has developed a number of stock doors op0ons. Airclad is an architecturally s0mula0ng system which is lightweight and easy to transport. This and other systems can be tailored to any size and shape. Airflow and pressure regulated structures can have access points placed as frequently as desired providing this does not affect the integrity of the structure. Extra doors can be built in for emergency exits.

In single skin structure’s pressure loss must be kept to a minimum. In its simplest form access can be achieved by a slit in the fabric membrane. But for a maximum pressure reten0on and air lock must be used. This can be in the form of a revolving doors or a set of doors with a pressurized space in between.

FLOORS

We offer a core range of flooring based on our experience with events and temporary structures.

v  Rolatrac It’s a light, quick and easy way to install plas0c 0le flooring (15 to 45mm thick) which can be placed directly onto grass and concrete, almost any surface. You can chose to cover the rolertrac with a carpet, grass,…and all cables can be run under the floor.

v  100mm raised ply deck This is a great solu0on for a solid quality floor finish. The flooring can be cut and tailored to fit any structures perfectly. Ideal for puyng onto grass, concrete and most other semi-‐level surfaces. This surface is usually covered with carpet, fake grass,….

v  Steel deck and Ali deck Ideal for larger outdoor events where sophis0cated AV equipment, air con and other ME will be used. These floors are primarily constructed from 300mm high staging and can be build onsite to cope with a big variety in levels. These systems have the ability to assist with the structural integrity of the finished design.

TRUSSING

Trussing can be structural or decora0ve for suppor0ng ligh0ng, speakers and drapes. The trusses are primarily constructed from aluminum or as laser cut steel plate that can be welded together and powder coated in any color to create very specific details of interior quality. Structural trusses are primarily required with the airflow systems where large expanses, high wind, or snow loads need to be calculated for the installa0on and method statements for construc0on will onen require lining equipment for structural trusses. Trussing will also allow for less airflow fans to be used during the running of the event and will also support the structure in the unlikely event of a power failure.

LIGHTING

Pneuma0c structures respond to ligh0ng with a great effect. The simplest, most cost effec0ve op0on for the ambient ligh0ng is to place fluorescent strip lights in the walls of the structures. LED ligh0ng can also be used in the same way but with the added advantage of easily programmable colors and ligh0ng effects. With DMX control units anything is possible. Fiber op0c ligh0ng and electroluminescent wire can even be woven into the structure.

BRANDING AND VISUALIZATION

We offer a complete brand visualiza0on service based on many years in tempering, dis0lling and capturing the essence of the look required by our clients.
